It would seem that Mountain Dew has a new flavor in honor of Halo 3

It's "Cherry Citrus" flavored. The stuff isn't that bad. It's essentially three flavors of Mountain Dew mixed together (regular, Code Red, and Livewire). I wouldn't say it's "invigorating," however. It's supposed to officially be released August 12th and will be available for 12 weeks.

Yeah, I just felt like announcing that. Discuss why Halo 3 needs its own soda, or something.

I don't hate Mountain Dew, it's just really bad for you and doesn't taste good enough to be worth it. I'd rather drink other sodas that taste better and are better for you.

So essentially, you are saying out of the 20mil+ fans out there, at least 10mil+ are stupid..is that what I am to understand? I buy it because it excites me that more and more, people like us aren't just nerds, we are the trendsetters, and it is good to see that shit that we push for get pushed into the mass market even further.

I'm willing to be that if Pepsi made some PokeDew you'd at least be happy to see it, and drink some of it also. I personally like it better than most other flavors other than the regular MD, and it does seem to make me more hyper...and MD is trying to tap into a market flooded by expensive softdrinks and energy drinks, so why not go further with it themselves with a drink specifically targeted towards that audience with partners Redbull and the like would kill for?

Of course not all people will buy it for that, but a lot will. Some people will drink it because they like Mountain Dew and want to try a new flavor. Others will because they support Bungie/Microsoft and like them and the business success they get from this exposure. But the main people they are trying to market to are more "controllable." After all, can you name one popular video game/movie/TV show/etc. that didn't have a lot of manipulatable fans? Me neither.

And for the second part, I probably wouldn't. Like I said I don't like Mountain Dew much and I would most likely laugh for five straight minutes until I get kicked out of the gas station. :P But that's still irrelevant.

Didn't they make Pokemon poptarts? I think I bought some one time (although I have never bought a Pokemon game) because I imagined I was eating Pokemons when eating them. I'm one fucked up kid though.

You Phoenix, fall into the "don't get Halo" category, as in you don't understand why it's so fucking popular. I don't think people buy everything Halo because they are easily manipulated, they just can't get enough of it, while not quite as "Star Wars big" as Peter Moore made it out to be it still is quite a big thing and when you have something like that people tend to buy it. It's no different than favorite sports teams, movies, comic books etc.

Hell, I have and have read all teh Halo books, have a Halo 2 & 3 shirt, and every so often I buy some geeky Halo stuff because I think it looks cool. I also collect hot sauce bottles, I mean shit I love hot sauce, and I figure what the hell why not? I dunno I collect a lot of stuff though, so maybe my case is a tad different. I don't think that makes people stupid, people just need a hobby.

I understand why Halo is popular, I just don't enjoy it myself. It really is a well made game, it's just my style.

I'm not saying that buying it is stupid, I'm just saying that the main purpose of this has manipulative intentions (as is almost all marketing), even if some purchasers did in fact use their better judgment when they decided to purchase it.

Yep, for all the body fluids and salts you lose by sweating while you play video games. *rolls eyes*

It's mostly just supposed to appeal to Halo fans and/or gamers who pursue an unhealthy sleep schedule. Basically it's just soda.

I was surprised at how much I liked this. I've had two so far, and I will say that it gets better with each one you drink.


It's best fresh, though, and it tastes god awful rechilled.
