ESPN says it will still have celebs drop by the booth -Oprah Winfrey has a standing invite - but now will sometimes go without if it can't land good ones.

I think it's fair to say that most hard-core NFL fans wouldn't consider Oprah Winfrey a "good one," but ESPN knows that hard-core NFL fans will watch Monday Night Football anyway. ESPN wants to build its audience by attracting people who wouldn't normally watch. And given her incredible popularity among a demographic not known for watching football, getting Oprah in the booth would certainly do that.

There's always the mute button. That's what I do for most of the celebrity guests.

I don't care to hear them talk about their movie or show and pretend like they watch football.

I have to hit the mute button when the damn commercials come on. They are usually 2x louder than the actual game, its really fucking annoying.

That'd be about as affective as using Mike Tyson to attract females to a Woman's Rights rally.
They tried this and it failed miserably(bye bye Dennis Miller), so why go even more extreme?

This is just more stupid american bs....................use whats popular to sell sell sell!

Where's my vote?

I got an idea - lets have topless announcers so that we don't even want to watch football anymore, we can mindlessly watch topless women pimp corporate products for 3 fucking hours. It'd be like the shopping channel, but for men. Halftime would be the public execution of some terrorist we just caught - make him fight his way out of a tiger pit with nothing but football pads.
