The stocks are on the rise will they stay up. If so then the uncertianty of war was what was keeping it down. The stocks might go back down though if people only watch t.v., will they stay up.?

If the war continues for a longer period of time than expected, you can expect major droppage.

I think stocks went up because people are buying duct tape and stuff they're advertising as protection against terrorism..

Then why is mcdonald's going back up, microsoft lost 90% of sales last year though which reflects that people are not spending extra cash.

1) That was stupid. Really stupid.
2) Advance Monkey, LEARN TO FUCKING SPELL! Sorry, but it's really annoying.
3) The market already went up 12%. Liberals, suck my dick, bitchez! Our President knows his shit.

Part of the reason they went up was because we are making excellent progress in the war.

Realistic Answers:
1) McDonald's Stock is going up because they recently consolidated their business structure. After they posted their first loss in decades, McDonald's basically rethought how they ran business and so, they are making money again.
2) Microsoft is lacking 90% sales because of total installed userbase. The more people that buy Windows XP, the less people need to. After long enough goes by, there is near zero need for OS, especially on the corporate (Big $$$) scale.
Remember Microsoft is in almost everything... gets hard to expand after awhile. They're still worth a lot of money, if that's the question...
