READ ME FIRSTThis thread is formatted for the PSinsider user interface.
http://xs219.xs.to/xs219/07384/SGDR-Ex03.PNG
With the PSinsider user interface all links are underlined and blue, click them for more detailed info about studios and games; currently the thread features more than a hundred links.

INDEX, use this to navigate the thread as you other-ways will haw to do a lot of scrolling due to the post containing the lists being very long.

http://xs119.xs.to/xs119/07384/SGDR-Ex02.PNG This icon is located to the right of the chapter titles. By clicking it you'll be taken back to the index.

http://xs320.xs.to/xs320/07405/SGDR-Ex04.PNG An even faster way to browse the lists is to use your browser's page-search-function and search for the chapter numbers.

http://xs119.xs.to/xs119/07384/SGDR-Ex01.PNG Game icons with a blue boarder and this tag in the top right corner are linked to the game's official thread at PSinsider.

The games are colour coded after the traffic-light system:
Green = The game is already released
Yellow = The game is expected to be released within the current fiscal year
Red = The game is possibly canned
Black = Only expected to be released in the next fiscal year

http://xs.to/images/spreadxs/bbutton3.gif (http://xs.to) All images are hosted at XS.to (http://xs.to), but be patient the thread contains 111 images (18.5MB).

Disclaimer: Please do note that this thread isn't intended for console or publisher comparisons.
The purpose is solemnly to satisfy a curiosity provoked by Sony's comments about having invested its resources in a strong 1'st party to carry the Playstation 3 until it gets a installed base big enough to pull 3'rd party exclusive games by it self.

1. The 3 main studios and presidents

Sony currently has 3 independent "major" studios:

Sony Computer Entertainment World Wide; lead by Phil Harrison (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phil_Harrison)

Sony Online Entertainment LLC; lead by John Smedley (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Smedley_(developer))

Sony Pictures (Digital) Entertainment; lead by Yair Landau (http://www.sonypictures.com/corp/bio_yair_landau.html)

When Sony is referred to as the 3'rd biggest game developer (staff size) or 3'rd biggest publisher (revenue from games published) it's (to my knowledge) only for SCE WW without including SOE and SPE.
Also at gaming conventions like E3 SOE and SCE-WW got separate booths.

Currently SPE only makes small arcade downloadable games and the ones for PS3 will be published through SOE.

2.1 SCE WW - Sony Computer Entertainment World Wide

http://xs219.xs.to/xs219/07373/SGDR-SCEA.PNG

Studios named "SCE city name" aren't really studios but development groups containing sevarel studios controlled from a seat in the particulare city which then handles the finances and contact with 3'rd party studios.

It sure took its sweet time, I have been fiddling with the list for some time adding studio logos, kept the list up to date, added Wikipedia links for more elaborated studio descriptions, added a bin for games which might be canned, changed layout and so on which all resulted in the thread expiring. LOL

But I do have some questions:

- Should I add GT5 Prologue
- Should Warhawk be moved to PSN
- Is it obvious that BRD is short for Blu-Ray Disc
- Are the list layouts too cluttered (if yes, any ideas how to improve?)
- What to do with Incognito and Jaffe's new studio
- Are there anyone here who do not use the PSI forum-GUI

Please do tell if you fall over some errors :D

Yeah BD sounds and looks better but sadly PSN is 3 letters. I'll try to see if I can do it in a more fancy way by using tables.

Dunno about putting Warhawk in both BRD and PSN as it could open for confusion... extra work with Socom, LBP and GT5P and I'm lazy.

It can't really be called an update but I have added a small tag saying 'LINK' in the corner of the icons for games which are linked to their official threads on this board as I didn't see the blue boarder as being a good enough indicator.

BTW, I'm planning to play around a little with tables (yup, I'm very strong) in the lists over studios where the essentials from the links [HOME][IGN][WIKI] are written in the table so people won't have to browse too much.

(EDIT)Example of content planned to be included in the tables:

Sorry for making a new post instead of editing the previous but it's to keep the thread active (open)

UPDATE
- Added Aqua to PSN games
- Added Flower to PSN games
- Added Go! Sudoku to PSN games
- Added High Stakes on the Vegas Strip - Poker Edition to PSN games
- Added pixeljunk racers to PSN games
- Made Heavenly Sword green
- Made Buu Buu Cocoreccho! green
- Made NBA '08 yellow
- Moved Evolution to 1'st party
- Added Bigbig Studios to 1'st party
- Added ARTDiNK to 3'rd party relations
- Added Japan Studio logo
- Added Q-Games logo
- Renamed all Studio Japan references to Japan Studio
- Added IGN link to SlantSix Games
- Added Wiki link to Q-Games
- (EDIT) Renamed Formula one '06 to Formula One Championship Edition

Layout Updates
8o 800+ views, yeah probably ~50% or more of those are made by me but with the thread stickied where also the not so regular PSIs drop by I thought the layout should be more intuitive and informative.

- Indented the game icons to make it easier on the eyes
- Indented headlines and sub headlines instead of using different fonts
- The index now quick links to the posts
- All posts now have a return link to the index in the upper right corner
- Made the colour tagging universal for then entire list instead of only the game lists
- Blu-Ray and PSN games are no longer being counted,
instead it's made more clear who the developer is and if it's 1'st or 3'rd party
- Inspired by car-card-games each studio now has its own card with the most essential info and links to more in-depth info
- There's now a READ ME in the topic post telling how to get the most out of the thread
- Re-arranged the posts

P.s. +Rep is always nice but I'd rather have comments because they help keeping the thread active as in not locked (due to posting inactivity).
And complaints about the layout are even more appreciated as long as they stay constructive.

4) Where's 8 days and The Getaway?

5) Why aren't half of those PSeye games on the store yet?

1) Socom is under PSN titles

2) It's the very first game on the Blu-Ray list

3) Sorry, I don't know which game you are referring to. :( What is it about?

4) They are in the Blu-Ray game list, though "8 Days" is listed as "Eight Days" (all games are listed Alphabetically)

5) Dunno, I guess it takes time even to develop EyeToy titles, but:

- Eye of Judgment is out
- Eyedentify is listed as probably canned because we haven't heard about it since E3 '05
- Aqua is not slated for this year
- Eye Create is out
- Flower, do we know the controls for this?
- TTP from NeoGaf has the review code for Mesmerize and Tori Emaki
- For Aqua Vita and Sky Blue, the only info we got on these two titles is one trailer shown some time ago

Sorry for not having been up to date with the colour coding, I'll have a look at it tomorrow.

Oh no need to actively search, but should you stumble upon a good video then please throw me a link. ^.^

Any video upload site (Veoh, Gametrailers, Youtube,...) will do and it doesn't matter if the video is positive or negative on the game as long as it's informative and preferably done by non-professionals.

This thread has more information than most PS3 websites. I enjoy reading that first page every now and then, even when its been inactive for quite some time.
