Throw out Dead AIM and get AIM Mutation. Has all the features Dead AIM such as tabbed windoing, cloning AIM, logging conversation, chat without an away mesage, rename your buddies. You can also Download skins, make your buddy list transperant, install plugins other AIm Mutation fans have made, the list goes on and on. Due to the fact it was aired on TechTV the site is very slow and will take awhile to get to, especially for 56kers, so a mirror was made. Make sure you uninstall Dead AIM, if you have it by going to the Control Panel, add and remove programs. Also, under the control panel, do NOT customaize your background. It messed up the background of other programs.
You must have AIM 5.2 in order for it to work

Just download or install 5.2. Yeah, AOL has been kinda cranky and most AIM plugins don't work for 5.5

Yeah, it does not work with 5.2

At www.aimutation.com they have a place where to download 5.2
I will just find another one or wait for an update.

Yeah, it even says on their website that the only way to make it work it to downgrade to 5.2. That sucks.

I got it and my roommate said he couldn't im me because of a "client mismatch"
