I think they are having problems because they are trying to run all the game code on the PPE without running any of it on the SPEs. One of their developers admitted that they are not using any of the SPEs. If this is the case they could be struggling to get all the code to work on the one PPE, because by itself the PPE is not insanely powerful.

Per the usual of all these PS3 delay announcements, Valve would not identify the reason for the delay, which is being ported by EA.

Only a couple weeks. No big deal. More important is whether they advertise the game as being on the PS3 at all. So far most of these third party releases tend to not even acknowledge the PS3 port (see Madden)...

Only thing that matters is whether the game is playable even after few weeks of extra dev time...

I've read somewhere the UK EA team doing the port is pretty adequate in coding for playstation platforms but you never know.. Because they've AFAIK only shown Portal, hence appetizers, not the main course.

By the way I don't understand the thread title, why would the orange box be PS3 exclusive because it's definitely not.
