Hey! Anyway, ya, so I tried this out. All you need is the PS3 charger wire thing, and a PS3 controller.

Sixaxis stuff is not implemented in this one, but I thought I'd just give everyone a shout who might have a PS3 controller and wire and a PS3 I guess, and wanted to play some PS1 emulated games or PC games with a controller.

This works brilliantly, I just installed it today.

Here is the link to the thread (http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=45209).

And here is the quote that made sure I got through it. My OS is Vista Ultimate, I'm sure it would work on XP. I'm not so sure about dual boots though with some combinations of OS, for whatever reason because I read something. Note that I am actually computer illiterate, so don't really take my commentary about PC workings to heart.

I will show my post on that site, and how I got it to work and whatever. I was really happy because I had to give my adapter back to the person who owned it, so now this works so I can continue to play emulated PS1 games, and now PS2 and 3 games on the PS3. I got everything Playstation I need :)

@Malus Darkblade and others....

Try this. I'm using Vista if anyone wants to know. This worked perfectly for me.

Thanks a lot to Zalibidas, I really appreciate it.

1. Download the files, and use the "libusb-win32-filter-bin-0.1.10.1" file. Follow the instructions until its installed.
2. Plug in the PS3 controller.
3. Open control panel, then game controllers. Make sure its on there. You should notice the PS3 controller is doing nothing right now. Open properties for the controller to enter the test screen, and leave it there.
4. Run "ps3sixaxis_en". It SHOULD open and close. Now go back to the screen where the controller test is and hit the PS button a few times. Button 17 should light up. If it does, congrats, your controller is working.

This is what I did to make it work. I don't do this now cause its much more simple to do now that I know how.

Once you get it going, every time you plug it in, just run ps3sixaxis_en and hit the ps button.

Hope that helped, and good luck getting it to work.

What I missed was running the ps3sixaxis_en.exe program, maybe because I'm computer illiterate :P

Thanks very much again.

Going to post this in the PC section also, for that maybe one or two people who will only head there :P

I tried it a while ago and it works great with Genesis and SNES emulators! Too bad I don't think there's a way to make it work with most PC games properly, but it was cool to be able to replay some of my old games on my PC with a good controller.

I think it detects the thing properly.

I'm going to try it with Halo 1 and 2 soon. Halo 1 PC should be no problem because they allow you to configure the controls to absolutely anything from any detected device, but sadly they didn't allow that in Halo 2.

I'm going to give it a go.

I also do know a way to have your controller pad coordinate with keyboard keys and use the mouse (with deadzone and all), so basically you can play almost any PC game imaginable.

If anyone wants help with that just ask here. :)

I tried a program that supposedly did that, but for some reason it didn't seem to detect the sixaxis and didn't work properly. Tell us! :)

In Linux, you can even use the Sixaxis!! And it is working via bluetooth

Source: Pabr.org (http://www.pabr.org/sixlinux/sixlinux.en.html)

It is quite complicated (you have to patch and recompile your kernel for it to work), but it works VERY well as seen in video 2 especially.

I don't know why there's still no Windows driver for the Sixaxis, as this guy even gave away the drivers as open source.

The program I used before was this one, it worked like a dream with my old adapter, but I see no reason why it wouldn't work with this configuration.

The program is joytokey, it can be found on this page (http://www.electracode.com/4/joy2key/JoyToKey%20English%20Version.htm).

It allows you to configure all sorts of aspects, even assign joystick directions to keys (I use this for deadzone in Halo for movement because it's too sensitive without it, the left analog controls WSAD for me). You can also assign specific commands to diagonals on the d-pad, and like I mentioned before use the joysticks to control the mouse.

You can also have one button press hit two or three keys at a time so you can have like command buttons, pretty slick, if I pressed up before I could scroll through programs Vista style, control my iTunes songs and volume and everything, it was pretty awesome :D

I had backbuttons for right click, middle click, d-pad for scrolling, left stick for coarse mouse control, right stick for fine mouse control.

Anyway, just d/l the program and fiddle around with it, just get keys to correspond with button presses and such, and play around with the advanced options on the right side in a tab. Lots of cool stuff to do in this program.

^Crazy! My solution is only wired, I wish I could get mine wireless but I have no bluetooth reading thing!

...

That shit is crazy. oO
You can use the SIXAXIS as RC then?

Holy shit, incredible videos btw.
Is this possible with the WiiMote too?
I mean it has bluetooth in it.

Yay! I'm using my PS controller to use my computer again, my Home button alt-tabs to switch programs :)

I wish there were Bluetooth drivers for Windows because that would be all I'd possibly want out of this.

Will check that program soon, curry!

I think they've got it working much like a mouse recently but I haven't looked into it much myself. I know there is a thread going on now about using it to control your music library and players.

I think the 6ax and Wii-mote are going to be found controlling all kinds of cool stuff in the next few years.

PC and TV remotes/converters working like Wiimotes, I can defo see that happening! That would be fun :)

I can definitely see Sony also making the PS3 controller compatible with their TVs and BD players also, maybe using the 6XS and joysticks to use as a mouse? Maybe a little more intuitive somehow I guess than the PS2 controller for the PS2 DVD stuff.
