View Full Version : High Stakes Vegas Coming this Thursday
This Thursday on the Playstation Network, Sony release High Stakes on the Vegas Strip: Poker Edition. This game will give players a chance to show off their skills in Texas Hold’em, Super Hold’em, Billabong, Tahoe and Shanghai against others on the Playstation 3 .

• Five different styles of poker that can be played as limit, pot limit or no-limit poker.
• Multiplayer for up to six people: players can play Open table games or Sit-n-Go tournament style.
• Online leader boards.
• Turbo Mode to power through the tournament circuit to advance a player’s career.
• In-depth hand statistics include stats such as percentages of hands played and won, flops seen, checks, calls, bets and more.
• Audio chat available with compatible headsets.
• High definition up to 1080p
High Stakes on the Vegas Strip: Poker Edition is scheduled to be available for digital download in North America from the Playstation Network on Thursday, September 13th for $9.99

I'm really, really, really, really looking forward to this. But of course, we won't get it until 2008.

I love poker, although I wouldn't dare to bet real money.
By the way, Blast Factor Advanced Research will be released in Europe next week. At least we're getting something soon.

Can someone teach me how to play?
Unless poker is the cards game that you have to just bet something in...
I don't believe in gambling..

Texas Hold em is fairly easy to learn, especially when there will be no video so bluffing will be a bit easier as people can't see your reactions or read body language.
I love gambling... Gambling & Alcohol are the cornerstone to any good life :)

But there's nothing wrong with a little Alcohol;)
Poker night + Beer = Awesome night. Especially if you're lucky. But I doubt very much that real money will be used with this game, fake money only I suspect.

You can always do some money bets on your own through email or VoIP. Verbal or electronic agreements FTW :-p
In before the press headlining: "OMG! PS3 will turn you into a compulsive gambler!"

$10 US?? That's quite much for a poker game, which on the PC are all free (and if you wanted you can bet real money).
I mean, this costs more than SSHD fgs!

No stud? Hmm, that seems odd. Don't the euros play 7 card stud almost exclusively? Seems like they'd just take some old poker engine and add some Renderware graphics and eye-toy support. Don't see why every game under the sun wouldn't be available...
