Sony has sent word that PixelJunk Racers, the slot car racing simulator by Q Games, will be available for download from the PlayStation Store this Thursday, September 13.

PixelJunk Racers features visuals in full 1080p, and offers ten different courses to race on with up to seven players simultaneously offline (Typo? Online?). Sixteen core modes of racing are available, including Speed Monkey and Fireball Frenzy, and there's a single-player tournament mode as well to diversify the experience. Also included in the game is a Global Online Ranking system that keeps track of your accomplishments, along with the stats of other players around the world.

Hopefully the game isn't played entirely as depicted in the screens available.

There is a trailer in the store. To be honest, I think looks like some flash game from Newgrounds.

I love when they put 'full 1080p!' all over games that require hardly any hardware muscle out of the PS3 to begin with. Hahaha. Come on man, I'm not retarded.

yup yup..it's not crap, the speed parts really require your reflexes...My wife isn't back yet, but it'll probably be even more fun with 2 people!

The game should be more like 4.99 because of the simple style, but you probably aren't gonna beat this in one night either, it has some value for a PSN game...

Just thought I should clear it up a bit...Yes, it is very simple, old, old school arcade stuff. feels like a Home game or somethin...

However, it is fun at least...

I played the demo, as a multiplayer game it could be decent, but it sucks solo.
