PLAYSTATION®3 SCOOPS EISA AWARD

PS3 receives award that highlights its role in the centre of the living room

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) has been recognised by the European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA) for the very first time, with PLAYSTATION®3 (PS3) receiving the award for home entertainment.

EISA is the largest editorial multimedia organisation in Europe, with a membership of nearly 50 Audio, Mobile Electronics, Video and Photo magazines drawn from 19 European countries. This year’s award winners were selected after the deliberations of a judging panel comprising journalists and independent technical experts and resulted in the home entertainment award going to PLAYSTATION 3 for the very first time.

“To receive an EISA Award is a very high honour in the electronics industry and therefore to receive one for a product that is usually thought of as simply a games machine, truly highlights the versatility and quality of PS3,” said David Reeves, President, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe. “We firmly believe that PLAYSTATION 3 has the capabilities to sit at the heart of the living room and very much belongs there. This award highlights that claim.''

The 2007-2008 EISA Awards were presented at a special Gala Event on September 1st, 2007.

Well no-one ever doubted how awesome PS3 is, Mr Reeves.

We are all just a bit doubtful about what Sony plans to do with that awesomeness.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and congrats Sony lol
Finally some widespread positiveness.

It deserves the award because the PS3 does not break down 1/100th as often as the XBox 360.

That's one of the many reasons, yes.
