Jack Thompson Seeks to Have Halo 3 Declared a Public Nuisance & Block Release in Flor

With the video game event of the year - the Halo 3 launch - just days away, game-hatin’ attorney Jack Thompson is apparently seeking to re-create one of his greatest non-triumphs.

Although he failed miserably with a similar bid against Rockstar’s Bully in 2006, Thompson hopes to have a Florida court declare Halo 3 a public nuisance and block its sale in the Sunshine State. He promised as much late last year (see: Jack Thompson Vows More Public Nuisance Suits Against Games in 2007).

I can't believe how stupid this guy is. That's like saying he wants outlets to block the sale of any other major entertainment release...Harry Potter, Star Wars..whatever, because it is a public nuisance. How does this guy live with himself?

Yeh, the funny thing about that was he said "If you make this game Ill donate $10,000 to charity" and when they did make it, he didnt donate shit. The Penny-arcade guys did instead.

I was actually stupid enough to read the complaint and he says that the game drops on October 25 and that Halo trained the DC snipers to kill. Plus, he mentions that the murders were not an isolated incident and that the sale of Halo 3 will increases these types of events.

He's going to fail his federal suit against the state, and the bar is already reviewing a complaint by the Bully judge, which he will most likely also lose, so really I wouldn't be worried about this happening for GoW2, GTA:IV, CoD4, etc
