That's what fanboyism does to you. I use to be a nintendo fanboy through and through... when I first played Halo, I thought it was just another stupid FPS... nothing great. And I complained about how stupid it was using two joysticks to aim..lol
Anyways, I started the single player campaign in Halo, because I honestly have no idea how the story goes. I always just played multiplayer in Halo 2. The AI in the original Halo is still way above average when compared to today's games... and I think that is what makes the single player so fun. Sure the backtracking is annoying, and the level design isn't that great... But man the AI doesn't feel dated a bit.
I'm sorry Halo.

Halo is actually a great game. Halo 2 is the one that isn't all that great. I personally was so hyped by the end of the first single player campaign, I was thinking it was the coolest FPS I had ever played (until I tried half life 2... blew halo away). I hope 3's sp campaign can live up to the original.

You will write this about non Xbox360 games in the future.
I wasn't too pleased with Halo myself (the only reason I bought Xbox1) but I'm glad you are enjoying it and Master Chief accepts your apology.
Also couldn't it be that you like it now just because you are an Xbox fanboy? =-o

No, I am not a fanboy contraire to popular belief.
I agree Half-life 2 is better... but it's for different reasons in my opinion. Half-life 2 is more problem solving oriented.
I own a PS2 as well, and like Guitar Hero and Bully and Kingdom Hearts 2... thats all I ever played on it.

I used to be in the same boat. I was a hardcore Nintendo fan (still am) and got caught up in competitive arguments with my friends who preferred Xbox to my Gamecube. It was all in good fun, but I still didn't like Halo on principle.
Then I played it and it was pretty cool. I never beat Halo or Halo2's Campaign. I started them both about a dozen times at least... Halo 3 will be different because Ill actually get the damn game.
As a side note: My 360 is the first non-Nintendo console ever. I did enjoy the original Xbox at friends places every now and then and although I wanted one, I didn't want one enough to go out and actually get one. The 360 though provides me with exeptional games that you just dont get on Nintendo consoles. But I have to admit, nothing beats Nintendo first party games.

I never got around to beating Half-Life 2, i got it for the xbox but i might get the orange box once its released and finish it there.
But yeah, Halo 1 was a really good FPS though, forget about all this Halo stuff and another FPS, its was just basically a good game and had a great story. I think what happened with Halo 2 is that they focused to much on xbox live and forgot what made halo halo

I prefer Halo over Halo 2. It's much more difficult to play in multiplayer, I like the health pack system, the death by cliff jumping, and a lot more.

They made Halo 2 in literally like a year a year I think... it was a very rushed game.

Halo 1 was a fucking amazing game. i still play it from time to time, come to think of it i recently played through it on legendary :P the floor levels kick ass for co-op too.
but yeah Half Life 2 is way way WAY better than Halo imo.
as for Halo 2? i think it had huge potential but they rushed it.

I didn't have an xbox but picked it up for PC and like the campaign a lot. When I bought my 360 in the summer I picked up Halo2 and haven't beat the campaign yet. For some reason it just doesn't have the same charm as the Halo campaign. Hopefully Halo 3 blows it out of the water; according to Nameless things are looking up

i was always a nintendo fan, and when the xbox was released, i didnt really care
but then a while later i saw my cousin playing halo, and it looked awesome
so we went out and got an xbox, just for halo, and it was worth it
ive played through the campaign of halo countless times, on every difficulty

Really, I thought the story was boring and I never finished it. It felt like a chore to continue going through the game.

halo 1 was awesome.
the campaign was the best part.
multiplayer was fun with friends, but the campaign is the reason i played it so much.
