I want to do something pretty original...and it would be great to have the game type in the spotlight, so I have been thinking for the past few days...
I think I am going to try and make a race course out of some of the maps... maybe place two or more vehicles at the beginning... plot out the path of the course using huge objects that are difficult to move. Then maybe at the end, there could be 1 rocket launcher for the winner to blow up whoever loses against him.
I could put respawn points at the beginning of the race. For those that survive, I could put a one-way teleport at the end of the course that goes to the beginning.
As soon as I am able to play all the maps, and get a good feel for them, I'll probably start working on it. I am going to take some overhead shots of the map, bring them up on my PC via bungie.net (is that possible?) and then plot my ideas on the image, and see what you guys think.
I don't know... just trying to think up a cool game types. This doesn't just have to be a race between vehicles too... maybe we could put various weapons(rocket launchers, gravity hammers, etc) around, and pull off a red vs blue match where one team gets to the finish, while the opposing team tries to stop them. The racing team could start near the vehicles, and the opposite team could start closer to the end.
If anyone wants to help me, that would be cool to. We could form a team. I started a group for members here on e-mpire:
