"The new 40GB model is also no longer backwards compatible with PlayStation 2 titles. This is due to a reduced emphasis placed on this feature by later purchasers of PS3, as well as the availability of a more extensive line-up of PS3 specific games, which will number a total of 65 titles across all genres by Christmas 2007."

Sony will be completely removing Backwards Compatability from all PS3 consoles after this Christmas. What's Sony's plan after this? Software Emulation or to force consumers to download all their old PS1 games and pay for them again?

Why did you feel the need for a new thread?Because that's what he does, that's his thing. He finds something to hate then he posts about it. Just like how he hypes games before they release then right when its about to hit retail he picks something small about it to hate and bashes it till kingdom come. Lots of threads get locked around here, lets hope this one does also. Wounding???? Where are you, get at it.

I was hyping Heavenly Sword even before it became a Sony exclusive!

Apart from that the only games I've hyped here have been VF5, Bioshock and MGS4, all turned out to be amazing games (we've seen the MGS4 vids and read thegameplay previews, it's gonna be a winner anyway).

Doubt I'll be slagging off RE5 when it comes out either.

Doubt I'll be slagging off RE5 when it comes out either.You didn't like Heavenly Sword. You didn't care much for VF5 untill it became multiplatform. I'm sure you love Bioshock and well we'll wait for MGS4 to release to see how you feel. Something tells me you like it now but when it comes out you won't....maybe the hue or color scheme just won't sit right with you. Oh and RE5 is multiplatform, I'm sure you will like that one too. I don't think you hate PS3 games or anything PS3 related it's just that your choices/opinions tend to be mostly negative about Sony. Hopefully they will impress you one day.

Either they offer PS2 emulator through firmware or you buy PS2 which will be dirt cheap. You already can find used one for $50-60.

There is a good amount of people who have lots of PS2 games and having no BC in the 40GB is a downer for them cause they probably still play PS2 games. But then you have some people who don't give a rats ass about BC and only care because it gives them something to bitch about.

None of this shit will even matter once the slim PS2 drops below $100. Seriously. And even then, by the time that happens, we'll be too busy actually enjoying the NEXT GEN games to even be bothered with the old shit. Stop FUCKING whining already.

Are you talking about PS2 titles? Because the 40GB model is still compatible with PS1 titles. There will probably be software emulation by next year for the PS2 games.
