I was thinking on this. Back in the day when i used to be over my friends house everyday and we would play Halo 1 after school, i would always have to select the profile with inverted controls, it was just me and me only. Everyone else had normal. They would look at me like, wtf is wrong with me. Why am i playing invert. I dunno how i got into invert controls, i cant remember, but i can play normal for shit. I tried to, just cant. So for every game that offers inverted or non inverted y axis, im choosing inverted while other stick with normal and cant stand inverted.

Do you play inverted to? Are we the weird ones are are they? Why and how did you get into inverted y axis is you do?

That's just how I learned to play Goldeneye, and so I've never changed. It really doesn't make much of a difference, especially considering how rare it is that I'll play a shooter.

pfft, june.

lol, but i guess its kinda different, im asking why people play inverted and if its like, a mental thing. Urs is just asking what you play as >_>

I started out as inverted from goldeneye and haven't changed since. I don't like playing normal. Though on 3rd person shooters I will sometimes use normal controls. For a while i remember I was using normal with socom. Though FPS always inverted.

I can play both ways, usually I use normal but I can do inverted just fine it'll just take me a couple games to used to it.

I must have started out using inverted when I used to play Timesplitters and I've been that way ever since.

I can get used to whatever in about 15 minutes or so if I concentrate. But usually its normal for me. I used to use inverted for about 5 years but recently I put Halo 2 or something in and for some reason it changed over night and I had to change to normal. That really confused the hell out of me.

Sometimes games just have a sort of inverted feel to them. It really depends on what Im playing that determines which i use.

I don't play many first person shooters, but whenever I do, I typically use inverted controls. That is, until the Wii came out and that point became moot.

I can play inverted if nessicary, but it takes some getting used to, then I have trouble switching back.

Funny thing is, when I got Warhawk I switched the flight controls to normal, I figured since it has been 4 years or so since I payed a flight game the inverted flight controls would just mess me up, I couldn't control the plane period 'till I switch controls for flight back to inverted, guess that's just kind of hardwired into my brain.

Yay for run-on sentances!

I'm with Wraith. I play both just fine. Depends on the game. I can play Halo both ways, but I think I prefer Halo 2 inverted and Halo 3 normal. Weird, but I've spent about a decade playing both and I have no problems with either.

My playing style is still the same from Zeep's thread. I have to play on "normal" controls (up is up, down is down). It's bothersome for me to look up and suddenly see my feet.

It only really becomes a problem when I'm trying to help someone get through a certain area and suddenly their control scheme is different. Then I get nagged on for changing their control scheme so I can help them out more effectively.
