The future

I know that sales don't always reflect quality of a game (Eternal Darkness sold crappily), but in your opinion who has the best future in software quality wise. PS2, GC or X-box. Name specific games. I personally cant get over the number of quality games that GC is coming out with in the forseeable future. What about you?

I think GC has the best upcoming software like star fox adventures, metroid prime, PSO and alot of other good games.

I think Xbox has the best lineup for the future. Some of the games are amazing and nothing like them before.

the bad thing about xbox and ps2 they dont have very many fanchises. they DO, but they dont have much to build up on. thats were nintendo is strong at.

Nintendo is one of the best development companies out there, so Nintendo consoles will always have some of the best quality games on the market. Third parties switch between consoles as they see fit, but Nintendo systems will always have their own flow of great games, so I'd say GCN as well.

Definately Nintendo. I think no matter what happens in the "console wars" that Nintendo will always remain. Nintendo is like the Apple of video games. It's in a class of it's own, always in competition with itself and not worrying about what the others are doing.

Yeah, Nintendo has all those games we all remember.. too many to keep track of, classic games like Sega has, they just been here for so long keeping a fresh look on really old yet favored faces ( mario, zelda ) etc..

Microsoft didn't even get Perfect Dark with the purchase of Rare LTD. All they got was the company, with no franchises to use.

I didn't mean that Microsoft would go out of business. I meant that Microsoft would lose so much money on the XBox that they would leave the video game industry.

That definately seems like a more reasonable Prediction, and one which i agree with 100%. Considering how poorly X-box units and software have sold in Asia, and considering it is also third place here in the U.S. One would have to wonder How Long Microsoft will last in the ring with the two current veteran companies Nintendo and Sony. Not Even the Recent purchase of Rare has made much of a diffrence for The X-box, Nor will it make that big of an impact this christmas since Rare will have no offerings in the current winter line-up of games. a recent article said that if Microsoft does not make an impact in the holliday season it may be the beggining of the end for the green monster.
