Some Japanese guy says FFXIII and MGS4 mightnot be PS3 only (NOW WITH P.C. TITLE)

Hirokazu Hamamura, the president of Enterbrain (Publisher of famous Japanese magazine Famitsu), said there is no guarantee on PS3 exclusivity for Final Fantasy XIII and MGS4, during a speech to journalists in Tokyo.
He also restated his opinion about Dragon Quest IX becoming the biggest selling Dragon Quest game in Japan selling 5 million units.

This is a pretty weird comment by the head of Enterbrain, as just recently Nomura was interviewed by Famitsu and said Final Fantasy XIII is PS3 exclusive. Perhaps he knows better?

Capcom also had "EXCLUSIVE ON PS3!" on their Devil May Cry 4 trailers, you just can't trust them these days.

There is no doubt in my mind MGS4 will remain PS3 exclusive because Hideo Kojima, despite all the pressure from Konami, wants it to be that way but I can't say the same thing confidently about FF: XIII.

Well, Capcom are IP-milking whores, and I guess Sony couldn't afford or weren't allowed to buy the DMC IP at that point. DMC3 had already been ported to PC.

FFXIII is mostly a Japanese-appealing game, so a 360 port is hugely unlikely, mostly when Square-Enix developers have been saying that in terms of canonical FF titles, the 360 is a blank page. And considering Kojima's appearance at Sony's conference at E3, and the fact that it was said "exclusively on PS3" repeatedly on the stage with the man himself, and the fact that Sony Pictures is producing the MGS movie, well, draw your own conclusions. In any case, both games would require at least 3 or 4 DVDs and would lack motion sensing support and standard HDD caching, not to mention that they would be released much later. Good luck with that.

It's not about Sony wanting to keep it or not, it's all about the money.

They were rumours Rockstar came to Sony to make GTA4 exclusive, but they didn't reply to the offer, assuming they haven't had enough money.

Sony doesn't sit there and say "lol let's go of the best selling games and lend them to X360", they sit there and think what would be the wisest investment and they are pretty much on 1st Party offerings this gen as they are guaranteed 1st party games will take advantage of the PS3 power in the best possible way.

Months ago, the French Sony vicepresident commented that they were negotiating the exclusivity agreement, and teh interwebs deliberately got lost in translation and read the commentary as "OMG Sony hasn't been able to secure FFXIII exclusivity!" when he meant that they were making sure it would remain exclusive to PS3.

Well apparently, in the same magazine the guy runs, Famitsu, a month earlier they talked to Nomura the guy that designs most of the FF stuff noawadays, and Nomumra assured them it was PS3 exclusive.

I personally could care less about FFXIII, but MGS4 is what I really care about. MGS series is pretty sweet and Solid Snake may be one of the only people in the world that could beat Chuck Norris at arm-wrestling.

Also, just because Sony Pictures is doing a MGS movie doesn't mean it can't come to other systems. It is just the same as saying that Sony and Microsoft are competitors in videogames, so Sony can't make Windows PCs. Also why does everyone keep bashing Capcom? The only reason they need bashing? No Marvel vs Capcom 3.

but aaaaanyway. I dont really care is FFXIII and MGS4 come out on the 360 or not. They will liekly still get more sales ont he PS3. Like DMC4, its coming to the 360 but ill still get it on the PS3 when i get a ps3. And many people probably feel the same way.

Well considering there are more Japanese games on 360 at this point than PS3, many of them from very Japanese centric developers like Capcom, Koei, Konami, Namco-Bandai, I could see it on the system for sure.

Well my mistake if Jap was racist during WWII. I just had never considered or thought of it as racist, simply because I use the word around my Japanese friend Ben all the time. He also freestyles and we call it Jap-Rap.

Besides, Japanese should be less worried about me saying Jap and more worried about their small penises. m i rit or wat? ;)

However, seeing that all of the Metal Gear projects since MGS3 have been released on Sony platforms only so far (including the mobile phone game, the digital graphical novels, the PSP games and other stuff) and that on top of all that Sony is in charge of the MGS movie production, it's much more likely that there are contractual ties between the series and Sony that would mean the current and the upcoming titles remain exclusive to Sony platforms. I just don't see why there has to be more than that, as every single rumor regarding a MGS4 360 port to date has been false. It really has become pure FUD, or at best wishful thinking.

Anyways, you are probably right, I doubt MGS4 will make it to 360, I mean shit PS3 HAS to have some 3rd party exclusives and if it is going to be anything it should be MGS4. I personally would buy MGS4's cutscenes on DVD for $20..they should do that later.
