Poll: Playstation Eye -- gonna buy it?

This thing's coming out on Wednesday in the States, and soon to follow in EU/Japan no doubt, so what's everybody's excitement level here? I'm personally really excited not really for Eye of Judgment, but just to have the next edition of the camera with better functionality overall, sweet sound, and great possibilities with EyeCreate and future software :-D

I can also make a little cam stripping money on the side, ya know.

So yeah, definitely getting it.
On it's own with whatever game I want.
Not interested in Eye Of Judgment.

I am definately going to buy. Still don't know if on it's own or with Eye Of Judgment. I never really played card games, but I am curious about trying out the game and the whole concept.

I also need to camera for:

- video chat
- replacement for headset in Warhawk
- SingStar (recording from a party and then uploading)
- Burnout Paradise
- Various PSN offerings

Yup, along with an upcoming new HDTV and the flood of exciting games, this winter will be quite expensive :hugegrin:

I am not interested in EOJ... My card gaming time is up (I sold all my M:TG cards back in 2003, but my PSNID is still coming from there... The Wretched was one of the best creatures in my deck).


I like the Eyetoy very much (my ex-gfs brother had it, and we had some blasts, drinking and playing those games). Since PSN is surely to release MANY cool minigames for it (the Eyetoy games were also rather cheap), buying it standalone is not a too big mistake, since we can also use it for different stuff also (chatting et al).


Also (as with the Eyetoy), there's surely to come a hacked driver for it, so you can use it in Linux and/or Windows (either way great). The cam has a very good fps with an ok IQ, so doing "special effects" with it is doable^^

I'm buying it, with Eye of Judgment, just to try it out. It's just 20 bugs more, so it doesn't matter that much.

I hear if you get the game with it, you will also get the software for free. I'm guessng it'll probably comes on a disc or something with the camera included if that's the case instead of PlayStation Store. If this is true, I'll be purchasing the bundle instead. If not, then I'll probaby wait a week before purchasing the bundle since i would still like to try out Eye of Judgement. But, for the current, most important reason, though, I would like to replace my Jabra headset. Having to keep charging this thing everyday has become a pain.

It's kinda strange, though. The camera costs the same price as my Jabra headset but far more advance on functionality. It really shows just how great of a deal you're getting on the camera. Let's see 1up compare that. ;)

Once I see how it works with Burnout Paradise, consider it bought. Until then, I can hold out. Eye of Judgement does look interesting, though. Live out some closet Yu-Gi-Oh fantasies with that one, eh?

If you buy Eye of Judgment, it's included on a disc (not sure if it's on the same one or a different disc, and if you just buy the camera, you can just download it from the store for free :-D

Its one of those things that whether or not I use it I simply have to have it for the novelty of the product.
