Good list of rumble compatible games alone with the supposed 1.94 firmware update including rumble drivers.

I wonder if it would be possible that one could import the controller from Japan and receive its benefits through these soon to launch titles.

I believe there's an interview with the developers of Uncharted stating the game out the box would support the feature so I would imagine any importers will enjoy the feature.

I'm not sure about BC and rumble for importers, but some of the new releases should definately work.

I can't wait to test this next month!

I wonder if COD4 will support rumble out of the box?

^Someone posted it in another thread, but it does deserve it's own thread; good work.

The import price is high...
I would guess the US version will be around $49.99 USD.

OG_Monkey
10-23-2007, 11:45 PM
thats what im thinking itll be too. Then to get rid of the sixaxas' (if they plan to phases it out) they;ll drop that to $40 or $30 even

Nameless
10-23-2007, 11:46 PM
^They will never get rid of Sixaxis period...

if i imported the dualshock 3 from japan, would it be 100% compatible with European consoles?

Sephiroth_VII

Yes, no doubt about it. My Japanese SIXAXIS works just fine with my US PS3.

so you think they will be selling 2 different controllers at the same time?

LaLiLuLeLo
10-24-2007, 04:15 AM
They will start phasing out the sixaxis once DualShock3s are coming with PS3s out of the box. Same as the original DualShock.

thats what i thought

I'm guessing, but I think that'll make the most sense, yeah? Adoption should be pretty seemless, if it's anything like in 1997/98 when they released the first dualshock.

I thought you were saying to kill the Sixaxis feature not the original controller...

Express or Standard?

VG Aficionado
10-24-2007, 01:01 PM
I'm not in a hurry for it, I don't need rumble before MGS4, so standard. If it arrives before Uncharted (December 7 in Europe), it'll be totally fine. It should arrive around November 25 anyway.

Sephiroth_VII
10-24-2007, 01:13 PM
I would've chosen express, but since standard was free...

VG Aficionado
10-24-2007, 01:28 PM
Yeah, that too :-p I'm paying a bit less than 50 €, which is the price I'd expect for a DS3 in Europe eventually. And if for some reason the white one wasn't sold here at first, or ever, it's a great idea to import one now.

Sephiroth_VII
10-24-2007, 03:39 PM
Yeah. Oh, the slick snow white controller, IN MY HANDS!! :cloud9:

I'm amazed so many people are bothered about the rumble function. Personally, I think it's the most stupid feature you could add to a controller.

masteratt
10-24-2007, 04:01 PM
Unless it's in a MGS game then it's the best feature ever.

I also like how it's turned on and off (through the PS menu in game, very nice and easy).

I just don't get what it adds to the gaming experience. For me, a vibrating pad doesn't make my gaming experience better. I guess we'll be seeing DualShock sofas bundled with BluRay films in the near future...

As I said- MGS :)

I agree with you 100% outside of the MGS premise but when you are in the MGS premise, rumble is great.

Didn't make the other MGS games any better.

VG Aficionado

I haven't missed rumble in the last few months, but since I want another controller and I like the white one, I'm getting it. All I really want rumble for is MGS4.

Didn't make the other MGS games any better.Huh? We all know about MGS1, but it was awesome to sense Snake's heart beats inside a locker in alert mode in MGS2. In MGS3, it was awesome to have rumble during the cutscenes, there were some moments that did have a greater immersion feeling with rumble. There also was a proximity detector that worked with rumble.

Lol, I would never do such a thing. MGS has definitely been one of my favourite series of games over the years.

...Apart from Snake's Revenge, that was just plain awful!

That wasn't made by Kojima or had Kojima's approval and it wasn't canonical in any way either, so yeah, it sucked.

Knowing that he had nothing to do with it makes me feel a whole lot better :)

Sephiroth_VII
10-24-2007, 04:45 PM
Kojima didn't even know it was in development before it was released, so completely unrelated to him- luckily.
