Well finally a rumor with some truth...
A few weeks ago someone stated the new 40GB PS3 would come bundled with R&C. I think it's a great idea to include AAA titles with the PS3 so you have something out the box to play & the free demos from the PSN.
The 40GB PS3 with R&C would be a great christmas gift to spoil the kids...
*The parents could use the Blu-ray too.*
Well the spiderman bundle is also available in germany. Hope that the other bundles will come later.

that ain't so great. if they were giving you the games for free then it would be great but they are charging you for the games.

They aren't charging you the full price anyway. I guess they could charge less than that, but then it would be pointless to sell a 399 € standalone pack. They have to make some profit (or less of a loss) as they're already selling the starter pack for 499 which effectively cuts the price in around 250 € compared to what have been the cost of buying a 60 GB PS3 + 2 games and an extra controller.

Too bad here in Sweden we are charged a 449€ for the standalone pack since the distributor "Nordisk Film" increased the price a bit. Greedy bastards!

Yeah, those bastards sure are greedy!
I can't believe they're Danish...

That 399€ basic pack is 479€ in Finland. And we even have lower VAT than in Sweden or Denmark :)

In Greece the 399€ basic pack is 449€. And the 499€ Starter Pack is 559€.
VAT @ 19%

lol... yep, i think games should be given away too. this is just a cynical move to sell more consoles! has Sony got no shame at all?

Well, that sucks!
We in Germany too have 19% Vat but we have the "normal" prices...
What do games costs in Greece? Here, we pay 70€, even for first party titles (which sucks hardcore, guess what, importing from the freaking UK makes sense now!!)

25% VAT here, and the 40 GB model is 442.54 over here.
Oh, and we pay 66.94€ for 1st party titles, and 80.35€ for any other games.
I guess you're feeling the pain of jumping on the € bandwagon

Here, they are just thieves. PS3 launched at 659€ !!! That's about 952$ (current rate, 1€=1.446$)
First party games (MS, R:FOM ...) cost 59€ (although HS costs IIRC 69€), third party costs 69€ (PES 2008, GRAW2 ...)
We did get one unique price though. WARHAWK got here @ 25€ & 29.90€ for the package with only the BD (the no Jambra headset package). The 2 different prices are from the 2 only shops that got that package here. Everybody else got the full package (BD+headset) @ 69€.
And yes, import seems to be the only way to get the games.

Heh Sweden is even worse, at launch the PS3 was sold for 6499kr which is a whopping 696,76€ or in US dollar 1004.10$. Computer parts are relatively cheap here though, so it evens out I guess. ;)

So, old Europe (i.e. the "richer" parts, Germany, UK, Spain...) pay less than new Europe^^ That is RIDICULOUS!
Well, shopto gives very good sport^^ I'll preorder RnCF soon (when my new CC arrives) for ~50€. I can wait some days for ~20€ less. (Maybe, I can sell it to EBGames for 45€ or so, so I don't loose much money :P)
I find it really strange though. First Sony announced the PS3s first party games at 60€ (this release is still downloadable at Sonys press HP... Ok, it only specifically said so about launch titles, but anyways) and then they raise the price by 10€. In the US (and usually, we get a 1:1 conversion), the games cost 60 USD... Importing for the win... even if we paid 30 USD shipping it would be less than the usual retail price.
Thank god my best rental store here also sells imports (at a lower price than the normal versions... i.e. HS US version costs less than the German!!)

Wait people actually want Sony to just give away 2 of their best/biggest games? So basically anything Sony does is a negative.

Now lets look at some facts:
GDP per capita:

Haha both Sweden and Denmark are higher up than the "richer" parts, Germany, UK, Spain... High five Sephiroth!
And btw what do you mean with "New" Europe, didn't know countries could change continents. ;)

Is that Dutch? In any case, it's the lowest price yet. Funny how it seems it's bundled with Genji when it's not.
