Shamelessly stolen from NeoGAF: (http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=204685)

Guys, sorry if this is a duplicate, I couldn't find anything on this new PS3 promo.

Ok here is the deal, this will be for the upcoming $399 PS3 (hitting shelves 11/02/07), and the deal only applies if you buy at the Sony Style Stores or Sony Style Website. The new $399 PS3 will come with the Free Spiderman3 BD movie, in addition to the 5 Free by mail BD movies, plus you can rack up enough Sony Style Card points to get another BD movie or two.

To take advantage of this offer, you will need to apply for the Sony Style store card which will qualify you for the $100 instant Discount and 12 months No Interest on all purchases $299 and up.

Find more online using the links provided above or visiting your local Sony Style Store (New Accounts Only)

So yeah, you gotta sign up for a shitty credit card, but there's no annual fee associated with it. Think of it is a $100 coupon and rip that credit card up.

You can also get the 80 GB w/ MotorStorm for 399 this way.

I didn't see a thread, although I read something at Tech Central that made it seem to have been posted, but...

I can already see this being posted as "Sony Fails Yet Again" elsewhere on the internet.

edit: in the way that you foresee something. I have not actually witnessed this occurence (yet).

I was thinking of taking up this offer, but the ad says you must first spend $299 or more before you get the free $100 dollar certificate. I don't have that kind of money.

You have to go to the forum link to go to the pages. Or VG needs to fix the links. :cowboy:

The Sony credit card is actually not such a bad thing. I use it to expense my work travel and have racked up enough points to have (over the years) cashed in on a free 20" tv, 27" tv, recently a PS3, and Warhawk. And I still have a lot of points in there. I use a credit card anyways, so may as well get some freebies. I'm accumulating for a new digital camera next.

^ It's a great deal that anyone with the cash should not pass up IMO.

You should have made a thread about this because it very well deserves to be posted like that. Besides, you also posted broken links :cowboy:

You made it.

Locked.

EDIT: You must apply for a Sony Style credit card and charge at least $299 to get the $100.00 discount. Not a deal that will apply for very many.

Umm, as for spending $299 or more to get the deal.... isn't the PS3 itself more than $299? just a thought...

Sure it is but that's how the deal works as it's not limited to just the PS3 but any order over $299.99

um, well you said it's not a deal that will apply to many, but if you buy the ps3 you get the discount... so it does apply to everyone that wants a ps3.
