Where are you going for Thanksgiving? Family, staying home, McDonalds? Theres always that one family relative/friend who thinks they can lazy out and freeload off you and eat at your place and all your food...i simply dont let em in unless they brought something.

What you planning to eat? Turkey, Ham, McChickens?

lol but yea, what r ur plans for Thanksgiving.

I dunno about you all, but i hate turkey, maybe me peeps just cant cook it correct but its so damn dry. But i heard about friend turkey the other day...i thought it was like fried chicken. I mean, fried...black person, its all we hear. But i heard its really good so if i can get my peoples to fry it this year itd be great, if not im going door to door until i find one.

Then theres the usual stuffing, ham, mashed potatoes, rice, chicken, fried chicken, BBQ chicken, spicy chicken...lol...maccorroni, salad (i never know why), corn, pie (although i hate it), and a whole rack of other stuff i dont eat.

Where are you going for Thanksgiving? Family, staying home, McDonalds?

I remember driving through town on Thanksgiving morning, perhaps around 11:00 AM, and I saw a father and son walking across the Burger King parking lot to the front door, only to find that it was locked. The sight made me sad, because Thanksgiving is just one of those family tradition things, and here's a kid being deprived of that by his dad taking him for a Whopper on Thanksgiving.

My wife bought me a 22-pound turkey for me to simply eat whenever we fix it, but I bought one for my parents because they're really having a hard time making ends meet and just can't afford Thanksgiving dinner. Of course, I'm buying everything to go with it. I'll be eating with them on Thanksgiving. We'd make Thanksgiving dinner here at home, but we'd be the only two eating it, and to me Thanksgiving is about family so that's why I'm spending it at my parents' house. She'll be spending it with her family, as well.

I miss being a kid, waking up Thanksgiving morning, smelling the scent of turkey wafting through the house all day, and the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on in the living room all morning.

This year I'm returning to Roanoke to have dinner with parents, grandparents, and possibly surprise appearances by other relatives. Likely fare will include all the traditional delights.

I kind of like Thanksgiving... mainly because its a day that I don't have to really worry about anything. Not a whole lot of family will be coming this year, since most will be coming for Christmas as usual.

We always go to my grandparents, since they live in town. A bunch of students and military people from my church go there too. I believe I do have some cousins that live like 5 hours away that will be coming.

I love that break... my school is kind of cheap in that we only get thanksgiving and black friday off. A lot of schools get the whole week off. However, after that I only have one real week of school, then its dead week, and the following week is finals. Then I get 4 weeks of break... which I desperately need btw.

God how I hate the holidays. Two days out of a year where I am obligated to spend time with my family, the same people that I dont talk to any other time in the year yet its necessary to sit around and pretend like I give a shit about their lives or they even remotely care about mine.

If it wasnt for my grandmother I would boycott any formal holiday celebration and keep my "Bah Humbug" ass at home.

Family family and more family....

Everyone single one of my relatives live in Oregon.... so we prety much get together every single holliday we're not busy with other stuff...

so..... This year its at my parents house....

and since I am "Cousin Nintendo" to all my little cousins, I will likely be letting them oogle over all my new videogame purchases and making sure they all don't break my games (they completely scratched one of them last time they were up).

but I have to say.... thanksgiving is one of my favorites becuase of all the food and great sales..... I got 6 one gig SD cards last year for only 1.99 each!

My favorite dish surprisingly enough is the Green Bean Caserole...... you guys know what I am talking about?.....SOO GOOD...... and stuffing.... I am not a big turkey fan

though..... this year is going to be a bit sad because this was the time about last year when my uncle was about to pass away from a brain tumor.... and this first year without him will likely be hard on my Aunt and little cousins and all of us. (every year he LOVED searching the adds for all the tech deals ....and it's those quirky things that really make up what people are...so ironically, even just not having him there getting gitty about a computer part he wants will be hard... Man....he loved his electronics...he was offered a tech position in the pentagon just before he found out he had a tumor)

We will be traveling for Thanksgiving this year.

First stop, traveling Wednesday night after work to Atlanta to see my in-laws. This year is unique since it's the first time we have had all the members of my wife's family all together. We will fry a turkey and have a number of other traditional sides and such. Should be a good time.

We will leave Atlanta Saturday morning and head back to North Carolina making a stop in Greensboro to see my family. Again, more family and feasting - this time with ham and some other dishes.

Last, we will leave Greensboro Sunday afternoon and get back home to Wake Forest, just in time to need a vacation from the holiday.

Dandelion Wine (Alcoholic)

Pick heads only of dandelions. Spread heads out on sheets of paper to get rid of insects. To each gallon flower heads, add 1 gallon water, 2 oranges, 1 lemon, and 1 ounce root ginger (crushed). Tie ginger in muslin bag. Put all in a pan and bring to a boil. Boil for twenty minutes. Then strain and add 4 pounds sugar. If not clear, add 1 egg white. To make it work, put in 1/2 ounce yeast on slice of bread. Leave it a week, strain, and bottle it loosely at first, then tighter. (It should stand for 6 months before using.)

Make it every time.

I love the holidays

I love seeing my family that I miss so much during the rest of the year. I love drinking whiskey with grandpa and hearing about the old days. I love seeing old friends that went away for college. I love the massive amounts of good food to eat. I love watching the Lions get destroyed by the Packers every Thanksgiving. I love going to "America's Thanksgiving Parade" in downtown Detroit. But, most of all I love Thanksgiving weekend because its the official start of the Christmas season.

Mine was a blast.

Oh yah, and it was nice watching the Cowboys murder the NY Jets. I feel so bad for being a native Texan, and not watching a single cowboys game this season until today.

Definitely something I want to do sometime. Be wary of me announcing a trip to the States around this period, because chances are I have an ulterior motive to eat some of your turkey, etc.

Today I'm having fettucine bolognese with my brother. He came home just then as I was cooking it and added a great amount of chilli without warning. It's good though, because chilli is awesome.

Man this is nice, Tomatoes, bacon, chives, cheese and heaps of chilli.

Anyway. This is the 23rd so I think I'm too late to make this post but I don't care.
