Especially in the Winter, it's starting to get extremely cold and I can't be arsed cycling to Uni these days. More to the point, I went into someone's car today! Hooray! I was at a downhill section and needless to say it's the point when I'm at my fastest. I have no back brake, the front one is fairly shit and it's wet outside.
I just seen her pull out, slammed the front brake on and just said to myself, "Shit." I ended up going straight into her door, my bikes fucked. Chain snapped and the front wheel is bent. I'm amazed that her door didn't come off worse, what with a bike and the whole left hand side of my body slamming into her.
All in all, it was more embarrassing than anything. It was inevitable given the condition of my bike and the fact that I rarely slow down for traffic coming out of side streets. What have I learned? Never ride a fucking bike. It might be a cheaper form of transport but it's well dangerous (even when you're a safe rider) and makes you smell like a fucking Ox, not to mention how shit it is in the freezing cold.
January can't some soon enough so I can start driving. :)
