Good to see confirmation for another Deus X game. Really enjoyed the first two, although the story got a little weak in the second one.

I predict PC, PS3 & 360.

What's with those trailers... the voice is always so laughable^^
Thank god I can imitate it rather well (I myself have a very bassy dark voice) to piss of people^^

This was in a press release (http://www.tombraiderchronicles.com/headlines3199.html) quite a few months ago, so it doesn't really fall under NDA, but uuuuuhhh...
in case you guys didn't realize, Eidos Montreal is using our engine (dubbed with the highly dull name of "CDC") for DX3, so I've been supporting with these guys as much as I have been within Crystal, Buzz, and Nixxes.
That said, this publicity came a lot earlier than I would have expected. Up until a few months ago, they didn't have any staff. They're still very much in early preproduction. I wouldn't expect anything significant before late 2009.

Considering they're doing that much hiring, they must be early on... they need a lot of people still

No Warren Specter makes me a skeptic. He made DeusEx what it is.

This is good news. I really enjoyed the first game. The second game, I didn't like as much but it was still fun.
Hopefully they move away from that unified ammo stuff...

On top of which, I believe they intend to be a two-games-at-a-time studio... on top of that, last I heard they were shooting for massive numbers on QA (nearly half their total staff).

I liked the trailer, cool stuff. Hopefully we'll see some of the game sooner than later.
Reminded me of the Starcraft II Trailer, although I like that one far more, I LOVE that trailer :)

This looks like it's at least a couple of years away (judging from the text cliffbo posted).
CPI's post confirms this.

The first Deus Ex had/has the best story line of any game i've yet played, especially if you took the time to read all the extras lying around like the books, the comp terminals, and questioning people a few times to get extra info. However the story and was seriously lacking in the sequel, quite a letdown actually.
So i'll get excited when we find out what the story arc will be, the trailer showed absolutely nothing except that the production exists.

Jeezee Chreezee, that's a lot. They must be planning on doing a lot of gameplay tuning/bug squashing, but I wonder if they'll have enough people to fix the issues their armada of testers will find!
Anyhoo, never played a Deus Ex but always wanted to... is the PS2 version worth going for or should I stick with the PC version?

I have only played a bit of the second and I got bored of it fast. Mainly because it was glitchy as hell and kept freezing, and even with all the patches it eventually decided that it didn't want to run at ALL. Real kill joy.
My friends keep telling/ reminding me to pick up the first one, but I just can't go back playing old games on pc like with consoles...no real reason....just couldn't be arsed.
Anyway. I hope this turns out to be great. Hope it isn't as buggy as part 2 was.

I also think they're planning to be a sort of mass QA team for everybody who's contributing to their games and to CDC and the core tools. So in a sense, that makes their QA sort of "joint" QA who report to other studios in the network -- namely, Crystal Dynamics, Nixxes, and to a lesser extent Buzz Monkey and IO Interactive (IO doesn't really directly use or affect CDC, but there is some tech-sharing both ways going on there).

I guess it depends. Do you prefer First Person games with a mouse and keyboard or is a controller fine?
Personally, for Deus Ex I would stick with the PC version. The graphics are a little "better", loading times should be faster and since there are many controls, the keyboard works quite well. Plus there's the multiplayer patch for the PC version. I'm not sure if the PS2 version has that feature.
