I don't know if the admins control what ads are/can be shown on the page, but if they can; the U.S. Navy ads really have to go.
They fucking talk! It's more annoying than that "say something!" shit.

We can't control the actual ads themselves, only certain parameters. Thought we've told them before no audio ads.
Go Firefox with AdBlock Plus I you can.

i was thinking the exact same thing yesterday
usually im listening to music or dont have the speaker on, so it doesnt affect me
but yesterday i was watching videos with my headphones on and every time i clicked on a thread i wanted to kill myself and those stupid fucking smilie faces that shout in your ear to "say something!"
and the navy ads are obnoxiously loud and bothersome as well when youre just trying to peruse the forums, especially because you cant get it to shut up quick enough by clicking on a new page or thread or whatever
do away with the audio ads completely i say!!

Why the hell are any of us on this forum not using Firefox anyway?
Using anything else is like banging a hooker in a condom factory without using one yourself.

I use firefox but with those ads as stated above, I cannot adblock them.

Try Adblock Plus and subscribe to the English language filter.
I've started forgetting what ads look like.

there's a lot of discussion from a few website owners on the firefox addons page saying that adblocking ads is in essence stealing. i kind of understand the sentiment but there are also places i did visit before that had ads that were neither ugly, intrusive or annoying but a few bad designers have to ruin it for everyone. anyway, i use adblock plus for things like that because the first time i heard an ad talk to me i seriously thought i was going insane.

That happened to me 30 minutes ago. I kept thinking I was hearing shit until I picked up my headphones.

when i was home over summer, i was using the tv computer which doesn't have firefox. well, it didn't at the time.
i was on the forums and the advert that's like "hellooo...!" kept going and i thought someone was saying my name really eerily. the volume was pretty low so i didn't know where it was coming from. this was at like 4am.

If THIS was the ad no-one would complain:

I like the fact that there is a talking Navy ad currently displayed while I read this thread.

*sings* Opera!
Though using the Block Content feature, I've got those annoying ads taken care of.

Fuck that ad. I don't need to use Fire Fox sine I'm on a Mac. Safari is faster.

Oh, this reminded me to turn back on ad-blocking from when I reinstalled everything.
Also lol at masteratt's video: "Was this like a gay cruise?" "No, no I wouldn't say that. I wouldn't say that at all."

I think Viper stated in another thread that AdBlocking is perfectly fine because the ad still gets loaded or gets a hit or something. The AdBlock just blocks the image and whatnot...ABP FTMFW!

opera didn't have a comprehensive enough content block option for my tastes. also it was blocking ads and putting a big white space where the ad was blocked. maybe you can fix this but i didn't really notice that firefox was any slower or faster than opera, so i didn't care.

I actually do use Firefox, but I don't like adblocking E-mpire cause it fucks up the entire Feng Shui.
i don't have speakers on this computer so uh... no sound ever ftw!

Why do you have the logo adblocked?
And I haven't seen an ad in ages.

You must have a narrow screen. I'm on a 1680 x 1050 screen so the logo is in the top left corner chilling by itself.
