when most people sit down to watch anime, blood and guts and gore and wild weird sex positions usually come into mind. they dont usually think about it being humorous.

do you think those two elements mix well?

im focusing mainly on abenobashi, golden boy, colorful, those who hunt elves, and the rest of the made-for-humor types of anime.

i find it hard to watch an entire episode of golden boy, those who hunt elves, and abenobashi in one sitting. but the 11 minute random episodes of colorful are perfect for a quick laugh.

Hmm...I dunno. It fits in some shows, but I hate it when Rurouni Kenshin lapses into pointless comedy for no reason at all.

comedy...most of it is a dry humor...like in Cowboy Bebop or Trigun..and mike i couldn't agree more w/you on Kenshin.

I like the quirky kind of japanese humor in any anime. It's on of the major reasons why I like anime so much. Love Hina has plenty of this and it's one of my favorites.

I didn't really like Fruits Basket much.
It seemed good though.

Azumanga Daioh!!!
This is one of the funniest, quirkiest, funniest, Japaneseiest, funniest shows EVER!!!
Very much Japanese humor, but it's an excellent show!
My second favorite anime.

The early episodes of Chobits were pretty funny too, before gradually building up the seriousness for the end.
My favorite anime.

Mahoromatic was almost always maintaining a balance between being very funny, and sometimes very serious.
It's like a youthfull Chobits.
My third favorite anime.

Love Hina was great, but I didn't enjoy it quite as much as Chobits.
Nevertheless, I still loved it.

The episodes of Golden Boy I saw were mostly dubbed, and this was pretty funny in itself, which adds to the already funny-osity of the show.

Rabunis, I'm pretty sure you'd like Azumanga Daioh.
