Most surprising to me was the list for best PS3 game:
Assassin's Creed
Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare
RockBand
The Elder Scrolls IV - Oblivion
Warhawk

I guess they didn't think too highly of any of the exclusive games....:shrug:
btw - Warhawk is in a demanding lead for Best Downloadable game(over all platforms)

I rather think, GS just doesn't want the SCEEWS to win anything...

I don't care for GS anymore, all their "good reviewers" are gone and the Gerstmann affair was the finisher for me.

I mean, the selection of games is ok (except AC, which is by no means better than either RnC or Uncharted), but for a "best on PS3", they should only choose between exclusives, shouldn't they? They could add a "multiplatform" genre, where all the crap from EA and Ubi can propagate!

Fucking Ubisoft pretty much bought off most of the gaming sites out there, from reviews to GOTY nominations for Ass Creed this whole thing stinks. That and Gamespot really hates Sony for some reason. Uncharted is GOTY no contest.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v500/EvilTaru/Indifferent2.gif

For PS3, Uncharted is GOTY, hands down.

I lean towards Bioshock being overall GOTY this year though.

And I didn't even know downloadable games can enter a best game of the console list, it should clearly be in downloadables.

Oblivion is a great game in its genre but it was released on PC and 360 way earlier so imo it shouldnt be on the goty 2007 list.
They should have put Motorstorm on it (which was released in Japan earlier but only there and without online mode).

I've only played the demo of Uncharted, but I'd even place that above Ass Creed. I'd even put Heavenly Sword in there!

But it's GS we're talking about here, this isn't a big surprise.

Still can't get over the fact that neither Uncharted or Ratchet being up there for the PS3 (shit i still can't get over the fact that they gave uncharted a 8.0 and ratchet a 7.5 for that matter lol). I guess MS gave everybody at the GS offices a free copy of Vista and they felt they needed to do something in return. :shrug:

Gamespot blows a dead monkey. Forget them and their "fair and balanced" reviews. They can not be trusted anymore after that Kane & Lynch thing with that reviewer they swear did not get canned for panning the game.

And I agree. No Uncharted = Failure

No Ratchet and Clank = Super Lame

Assassins Creed from what i have heard here is not better than either of those titles.

but I agree the list is pathetic... Gamespot is pathetic... actually I find most all of the videogame journalistic websites to be putrid... IGN sucks balls just the same.
