So I saw someone post on an LJ community about the iPod game that Harmonix developed, Phase. I think it came out a while ago, but I didn't hear about it til recently, so sorry for those of you to whom this is old news.
It's only $5, so I figured that I might as well download it.
Phase comes loaded with it's own mini soundtrack of 7 songs, so you don't HAVE to use your own music (though.. that's the point of the game). In true Harmonix fashion, both Freezepop and Bang Camaro are on it's soundtrack, so yay.
In order to use your own music, you have to create a new playlist in iTunes and add music to the "Phase Music" playlist. When you connect your iPod, these songs will get 'added' to your iPod again. So, I get the impression that any music you put in there is getting stored on your iPod twice. Not sure though. Once the songs are loaded into Phase, you just load it and can play them.
The controls are pretty simple. In Guitar Hero style play, you hit the back, middle, and forward buttons as notes come down the screen, and then there is also wiggly notes that you use the spinner to control.
Every song I've played so far has matched up either really well or decently well, and although the game isn't wicked hard, it's still a fun challenge.
Uh, here's a random vid:

The major problem I have with Phase is that it eats your battery life to death. iPods weren't really meant to play music on.... but.... for $5, oh well! For that cheapness it's fun!
