Sweeney Todd... amazing.

Depp and Bonahm-Carter did a tremendous job. Loved this movie. The story line was somewhat whimsical and not that original, but the format is superb. The performances push this way beyond an average movie. Yes, its pretty violent. Yes, they sing and do it well. Yes, corsets rock.

Go see this now.

I hated this movie. I closed my eyes and almost fell asleep multiple times. Musicals are fine and dandy, but there was but two catchy numbers and they weren't that great.

Some did have great lines, but if the majority of the movie is going to be singing, I don't want to be just sung dialogue you know?

And yes, I liked: Batman, Edward Scissorhands, Big Fish, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was alright.

I saw the ad and it didnt look like something Id be interested in. Johnny Depp kicks ass though (im watching Pirates of the Caribbean 1 as I type this... the Black Pearl is cashing the Interceptor), and so does Tim Burton so I decided Id give it a chance. Probably the kind of thing Id see with females friends instead of Guy friends.

But if it has violence and more importantly comedy then I may just like it more than i originally anticipated.

I thought it was humorous and stylish. Depp's character reminded me of darker Edward Scissorhands; he's a stiff, confused guy in tight black clothing with pointy objects.

Edit: And Helena Bonham Carter is attractive.

The entire movie seemed to span one fucking song without an apparent key change. The story was less than fantastic, even less than mildly-entertaining. The characters interested me less than the ugly guy sitting behind me.
