First of all, my screen saver is running slow as hell! I mean, like a frame every 10 seconds. Second, my WMP takes a long time to load a song. Third, every single time I open a folder, that gay windows exporer message pops up and closes my exporer, messing up my tool bar.

I tried the following things:

Restarting my computer
Running Adaware
Defragging my computer
Running Antivirus

I had a trial version of Norton that lasted for 15 days. After it was installed, I ran it and it found a trojan. I deleted it and hoped the problem would be solved. Now my computer is even more fucked up. I went to run Norton again and it said the fucking program expired, the SAME day I intalled it.

Ps- Awsome avatar. Rocko was one of my all time favorite shows. I believe the picture shown was from the time they were trapped in the cabin on the mountain. I believe this would be the point Mr. Bighead radioed out for help via a blender and microwave, and got a fastfood intercom station.

It is possible some files were damaged from the virus. Attempt to uninstall Norton in safe mode and download the free copy of AVG. Install AVG and download the updates for it via it update feature. Disable system restore point if active by :

Click Start > Programs > Accessories > Windows Explorer
Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check the "Turn off System Restore" box

Run full system scan with updated AVG.

If still nothing is found and nothing recovers, I want you to find the recovery CD that came with your computer. Insert it into the CD-tray and restart. Choose to boot from CD and run windows install in the recovery pannel. Choose to repair the operating system. This feature will replace OS files while maintaining your data. While it is almost gurenteed nothing will happen to your data, there still is a small chance you could lose it, although it is very uncommon. Just a precaution warning.

The most effective tools to repair a botched windows operating system are the two R's. Reboot or Reinstall. Today , repair should do.

----------If you do not have a recovery or Win XP OS CD, please post again.

So, you're saying if I boot from the CD, all my songs, etc. will be safe?

Thanks. I'll try it out.

Nuke, you are a god among many!

If anyone says otherwise, then they are fools!

In other words, I downloaded AVG, and it found and removed 21 trojans. I haven't checked my screensaver yet, but my WMP is working at normal speed again, and my windows loaded up much quicker!

Thanks again man!
