After some waffling early on and being horrified by the price at launch, as well as being tempted by the siren call of the 360's library, I have at last made my decision and entered the next generation after renewing my oath of fealty to Sony. I now have an 80GB PS3, as well as assassin's creed. I'll also be getting warhawk with christmas money. I'll be online in a few days to kick your asses once I get back to my wireless connection in Richmond :P.

Until then, my only questions are that is there anything I NEED to be online to set up (besides the obvious like PSN payment info). I also wanted to check and make sure Folding@Home was a free download (probably is but I'm stupefied with joy right now ^_^ ).

AWESOME!!! Congrats! I just got an 80 GB too. :thumbl: I love it sooo much. It is so pretty. I am savaging EBay for cheap Blu Ray movies and games. PS3 rocks! I hooked it up to an LCD 22" wide screen monitor that does 1080p resolution and I swear that movies have never looked as good as this. :pinky: I got Uncharted. This game rocks! I want to get Assassin's Creed. Everybody says it kicks ass. Man, we are now part of the PS3 club!

Doing Folding@Home is kind of like religion. You just have to have faith. I am not religious, but I believe in Science. My grandmother died of stomach cancer recently as well, so that is another major motivator. Eventually humans WILL find a cure, maybe it will be the protein that you helped unfold that makes the difference. Who knows?

The only part you're wearing down is the fan, and by the looks of it, it's very well built.
