Sony Giving Away $50 PSN cards, in Japan :(

Am cry. :cry2: I want them to have this contest in America when they bring the cards here. I could use $50 in PSN cash....

100 lucky Japanese PS3 gamers will get a 5,000 Yen gift card in a lottery drawing being help from 12/26/2007 to 01/07/2008. All you have to do is purchase something on the PSN and you’ll automatically be entered. While this is kind of a hard thing to do in the US with such a limited selection, the Japanese PSN store is brimming with PS1 titles so it’s likely many will enter unknowingly. Don’t expect this to hit any other region either as the PSN Cards just came out in the US with little to no promotion.

Hmm, IMHO SONY should instead give $10 with every sold PS3 and fill the HDD with demos + trailers.

This would create more awareness of the PS3's game library and establish a more active online society (people using PSN to cash in their $10 and then sticking around for more free trailers + demos).

Yeah, it's a bit OT but I bet it's the same result SONY tries to achieve with the media stunt mentioned by the OP.

Yeah, the even got Resident Evil 2 last week...

I just don't know why Sony doesn't speed this up, ie. what are they waiting for?? It's not like the games need to be finished or so, the emulator works on most games "we want"...

RE2 remake on PSN would move more PS3s. By giving the PSN a boost of high quality d/l content over competitors. Especially MS with GTA4 under their belt. This is how Sony should be thinking.
PSP is fine the way it is, I believe people already playing all ps1 games on psp. On PSN it's easy to control piracy.
