Okay first i must explain:
I rented this game for a week and it arrived yesterday, i started with the campagne and finished it today.
So far so good, the campagne really is a blast even when its way to short.

And i thought, try it online it was hyped as one of the best online games etc.
WTF?
It play good, dont get me wrong, the weapons are cool, the maps are nice, no lags and the ranking system is more fun than i thought.
BUT WHY cant i CHOOSE a freaking room for MYSELF???
Why i HAVE to search for a game in a specific gamemode for 5 minutes?
It SUCKS, you FINALLY join a game after 5 minutes idiotic searching and then the host goes and the game is over.
So annoying!
Its only worth playing online to meet with friends, make a group and play.

Sorry but i think it sucks this way and if IW doesnt fix this i wont buy this game.
Yeah i needed to make a new thread because i cant find the old one and it feels good.

It only takes me a couple of seconds to find a match and if it can't find one it will put me as a host. IW is working on a patch that includes host migration so even if the host leaves the game will go on. About a month back it was worse it took more then 5 mins to find a match.

But what should i do when none of my friends with this game are online?

And with the search time, i know im not the only one with this problem and i also know that a lot of people dont have it.
That alone is stupid enough.
Im so frustrated right now, because the game itself is awesome but this alone destroys all of the experience for me.

I hope Socom Confrontation gets the options from S2/3 because that is what i call matchmaking. lol

While I'm not totally frustrated with what GTAce is referring to, it is pretty annoying having to leave a game and enter one until you find one that's populated. What my main gripe is that the invite system doesn't tell you when a buddy is already in a game or not. That shit's gay.

Hm no not really.
My rank gets updated directly and it works all without problems.

Yeah, I'm having that problem right now. On my main stats page, everything updates, but I get bupkis on the leaderboards.

With all it's online "flaws" CoD4 is still by far the best FPS on the PS3 right now. I do agree though, they could have made it even better.

While I agree that RFoM has a far easier and more intuitive online lobby, party, chat, etc. CoD4 provides far more fun with ranking up. I love both games very much, maybe I just like CoD4 better at this time because I played RFoM to death months ago.

Since when does a longer campaign make it a better campaign? CoD4's campaign, while not that long, is an impressive piece of story telling for an FPS. Far better IMO than RFoM's storyline.

i have had the same problems finding a match! especially when i was a lower rank, but now that i have moved up i have no problem only takes a few seconds usually and it throws me right into a game

been trying to get on for 10min now at 10pm pacific time, this is horrible...lol. Keep receiving error notices whether im host or not.

They've had trouble with the servers before, but it usually doesn't take them too long to fix.

But anyway, wasn't this supposed to have been fixed by the new severs they got?

Agreed, Snake pwns me when he is against me. I will be on in about an hour for quite a long time. Anyonewho wants to play, request me as a friend I will accept all requests before logging in.

lot of lag too its really hard to kill people when theres lag. you empty a whole clip into them then they turn around & pop a coupla shots & ya gone

But i wanted to get online again but it didnt worked.
It just said something like GAMECONFIGDOWNLOAD... or so (dont know what it is in english). 8(

Man, I snagged it when CreativeWriter posted up the $40 deal on amazon.com. Ended up paying $39.99 for it exactly. And the online is great. I haven't been able to connect recently, but when I was in the game, there was relatively no lag for the most matches. A few of them bogged down, and one flat out died on me, but the majority were buttery smooth.

I was reading over at IW forums they said that demonware (the server provider) knows about the problem and it looks like it's back up but there might be some still with the problem.
