View Full Version : What did you think of Cowboy Bebop's ending?
Just wondering what everyone thought of its ending. I didnt like it too much, but I do at least give it credit for being an artistic ending. I still would have liked to know how Ed was doing, and know what happened to Faye and Jet after the ending. One thing I would love to see is another anime starring Jet, because to me he still has a lot of stories to tell, same for Faye.

I thought it was very very fitting. I personally wouldn't have had it anyother way.
Although Edward was one of my faves on the show, she really didn't need an ending...
Faye kinda annoyed me, although if she didn't continue doing bounty work she probably wound back up at the casinos...
as far as Jet goes...a series on him would be cool...aslong as they would go into a bit more of the ISSP days.

How can a woman with a set of breasts that big annoy you? I liked Faye a lot, I thought she was stylish and cool, and not the usual goody innocent girl. And They didnt explain exactly where she came from, only that she was put into stasis after an "accident". I think theres still a lot of story there, and maybe they can introduce a new villain from her past.
A new anime where they reminisce on the ISSP days would be mega cool. To me Jet was just as bad Ass as Spike. Jet had a lot of shit going on back in his younger years. There's space for tons of storyline oppurtunities there.
Oh well how long has it been since Bebop came out? 6 years? Maybe some day the creator will make more if hes asked enough who knows.

i think its been 5...but who knows...*who really cares?*
Faye can annoy me simply on the fact that she was always getting herself in over what she could handle.
One thing i think was odd about CB is that when you meet Edward she can do just about anything, but later on...her skills seem a bit more limited...
What was one of your fave episodes?
I really liked the one w/the crazy assassin guy who was squished in the carnival area, I also like the one w/the terriorst w/the human to ape virus..that was a great one...lets see...those are two that come to mind

i read somewhere that the creator of the series was working on samuri type animie with a hip hop theme(as aposed to the jazz theme that cowboy had going on with its sound track). sounds kind of interesting except for the hip hop theme. but as for cowboys ending, i thought it did the series justice.

I thought it was fine, and it wouldn't make much sense any other way. Just wish they made the series longer, cause there were so many thing they could've done. Oh well, without a main storyline I guess 26 episodes is good enough.

I love cowboy bebop but not as much as Outlaw Star. To this day I cant figure out why I exactly like anime, maybe because I like space and all that, but I think its to do with the complex storylines and fast paced action. I thought the ending was interesting, but likewise, I really do wish there were more episodes.

I cried at the end of Cowboy Bebop.. I thought it was soo sad... *tear* Christ, I'm too emotional. lol. I think, like Blaksmoke, the series should have been much much longer, but..

I don't think it should have been longer...well, it should have been longer in the US, because in Japan, there are like 15 million anime series exactly that long...I thought the ending was typical of a anime though...at least it wasn't confusing though...

I just thought Outlaw Star was a bit, well, mroe casual than Cowboy bebop. I dont know. Both great though. I've got to admit that Bebops ending was better than outlaw Stars ending, that was just shit. What the hell happened to the macdougal brothers....

I wish that spike didn't die a the. He was one the most coolest characters ever on a cartoon. Kinda sucked that he died, I wish it continued. But it was a good ending though.

Heres my 2 pence. Outlaw Star = longer, less quality storyline and Bebop = much much shorter, better storyline. 25 epispdes isnt enough for me.

The action in outlaw star made it more americanized so i can see why people liked it more...the quick fix anime americans like. Story wise and more adult wise Cowboy Bebop was more fited for people who were into watching deeper animes and didnt have to see someone get blown up every five minutes...

I don't know about hat. An awful lot of stuff blew up in Bebop, and unlike what you said, most American anime fans like Bebop more than Outlaw Star.
I like OS more than CB because it it was the first anime I really got into. That was about five years ago. It just holds more sentimental value I guess you could say. Both shows have their strong and their weak points.

Jean Starwind had a really cool gun...the cal catal-sp girl was um...crazy..and that other chick...seemed to have personal issues...the kid..forgot his name was ok...
while
Spike was just an all around bad-ass, jet was cool, Faye annoyed me...much like the cal catal-sp, and Edward was one of my faves...mostly because she was just so free going, but had a rather serious side. and ein -hehehe.
thats my 2 cents on CB and OS.

Gene! Jean is a woman's name. The boy's name is Jim, the catr'l-catr'l is Aika and the female assassin is Suzuka.
Yeah, Ein is the coolest korgi ever.

Jean can be a mans name, anywho...
Blacksmoke maybe you can clear this up for me on OS, why was Gene in prision in an episode or two?

He got himself locked up on purpose because one of the inmates knew the coordinates of the Galatic Leyline and there wasn't any other way to ask him.

Don't assume without official numbers. I could eassily say that I know more people who like OS more then Bebop(which is actually true).

Well there really isn't any way to get official numbers, but Bebop is by far the most popular at AMV (http://www.animemusicvideos.org/).
And then at AnimeNfo.com (http://www.animenfo.com/statistic/top100.php?l=anime), you can see the Top 100 user rated out of the thousands of anime in their database. Cowboy Bebop is number 4 while Outlaw Star is number 90.
I dont know why everyone Loves Bebop...so many animes I liked better. I just cant see the big deal.
BTW that list totally blows and is one of the worst lists I have seen. They have movies, sections of series and other inconsequential shit.Furthermore a lot of the Animes they tossed in there really cant be compared to the others...Like Apples and Oranges.
