Spider-Man has memory erased about Mary Jane (http://adaylatefriend.blogspot.com/)

In a controversial decision, Marvel Comics has decided to erase Spider-Man's/Peter Parker's memory of Mary Jane to keep him fresh and unique.

"We knew it would be a very controversial thing to do," says Joe Quesada, Marvel's editor in chief, who believed so much in the project that he drew the crucial issues himself. "Looking into the future, this is really the right thing to do for the long-term health of the character."

Wow, they're really running low on good ideas.

What next Peter Parker knocks her up and then has to have a secret wedding with another girl on the same day the baby is expected and then his dead grandfather returns with a new body?

Well, re-setting the clock could be a good thing, especially with them coming out with three issues per month and more or less jettisoning the side comics. I guess they have new writers and they're going to have new villains. So, if these comics are well-written and have any value, this might be good. On top of everything else, they can explore Peter being single in today's society and maybe they'll get some mileage out of that. Quesada was probably right that Peter being married might have been a weakness only because its too easy to get into really lousy soap opera shit.

Yeah I'm not enjoying Amazing Spider-Man lately (and it's one of 2 comics I check every month). That and All Star Superman, which has also started to disappoint after a great first few issues.
Fuck man. Gotta get my comic out here and show 'em how it's done.

you know what they should do? they should kill spiderman in a really long comic that combines everyone from the marvel universe and then have a lot of false spidermen show up after he's dead and then have the real spiderman show up at the end because he was never really dead to begin with. they could make a cartoon too. it's perfect and what's better, it's unique.

Comic books in general have been losing their appeal with even the more faithful consumers it seems. Its been some time since I have been interested in the genres but everytime I wonder into the local comic book store and browse through various issues it seems to be the same old rehashed nonsense. I see less and less books on the shelves and the clerks tell me that they simply cant sell their orders anymore. I collected in the late 80s and throughout the 90s and honestly these years was a good time to be a comic book fan.

As far as Spidey losing his memory of Mary Jane it sounds really kind of ridiculous. They should simply kill her off in some epic ordeal (hell it worked with Gwen).

Kill her off. Because otherwise you have to have him captured or some other bull shit, and then have his mind erased? lame. Or have some bad guy beat his head in but then he'd probably just be a vegtable....

She could cheat on him, so he beats the other guy to death, then realizes what he's done and flees?
