What is some good, upbeat jazz to get into? I've recently fallen in love with this music and I don't know what to buy?

Jaco Pastorius.I wouldn't really call much of his stuff "upbeat."

But essential listening none the less.

Okay, so they're more Electro-Jazz, but if you want "upbeat" then 'yes!'

The Cinematic Orchestra's soundtrack to 'Man With A Movie Camera' is one of the finest soundtracks to a film I know of.
The most upbeat pieces are:
Reel Life (Evolution II)
Man With A Movie Camera
Theme De Yoyo
Theme Reprise
All Things
Yesterdays New Quintet was one of the reasons I got into music.
Specifically the song 'Sun Goddess', which is a cover of the Ramsey Lewis song.
John Zorn.
A significant fraction of his immense musical output is Jazz, although he's probably more Avant-Garde than you're looking for.
The Acoustic Masada works (also refered to as just 'Masada') is largely straight forward Jewish Jazz quartetstuff.
But a few upbeat selections include:
The Masada String Trio version of 'Tahah' and 'Meholalot'.
A Thrash Jazz cover of Ornette Coleman's 'Blues Connotation'.
The Noir epic 'Spillane'.
The blisteringly cool Electric Masada version of 'Tekufah'.
For Jazz of a more traditional style, check out David Murray.
I really want to listen to more, but I never get around to it.
Billie's Bounce
Waltz Again
Another Jazz soundtrack is that of Spike Lee's beautiful film 'Do The Right Thing'.
We Love Roll Call Y'all
Da Mayor Drinks His Beer
Mookie (Septet)
Look for Buddy Rich solos on YouTube.
He is the greatest drummer of all time.
And finally, a few miscellaneous songs.
Songs that may not be at all what you want, but I feel compelled to include them anyhow.
Nina Simone - Sinnerman (a lot of people will recognise the piano break as sampled in Talib Kweli's 'Get By'.)
Flanger - How Long Is The Wrong Way
Cujo - Popsicle
Mr. Scruff - Get A Move On
Estradasphere - The Dapper Bandits
Estradasphere - The Bounty Hunter
Estradasphere - SuperBuckJazz (http://www.ocremix.org/remix/OCR00577/)
