It's been a very long time since I've made a thread here, but today is a special occasion. Today, five years ago, saw the birth of this very forum! Doesn't seem like it was that long ago (OK, maybe it does, I've spent far too much time on here over the years).

Of course, a lot has changed since we started, we've had name changes and mergers, but we've still managed to keep a great community. This place wouldn't be here if it wasn't for all the people who've contributed over the years. So I'd like to thank everybody whose posted on these forums in that time, and I hope you can join me in wishing the forum a very happy birthday :)

One thing that disappoints me though... we have a stellar community, but our main page is shit. It hasn't been updated in over a month now. We all need to come together and change that. In order for that to happen, I need some people who will be committed to keeping the page updated regularly. People who will review games (on time) as often as possible (some of those games you will get free for doing so). We need people committed to the site. I haven't been as much as I used to be in the past, and it has slid downhill since. No interviews, podcast is dead... these are all things I want to change. I'd like to start up a psinext only podcast as well, but I'm working on getting some audio equipment that I can send to all participants so that they don't sound like shit anymore. That's only a small part of the things I'd like to pull off, but in order to get any of it done it will take help from you. Whoever is interested in getting on board to help bring the main page to where it was and beyond, PM me with a sample of your writing, be it a news piece or a game review, and I will pick out some to help out. one thing to keep in mind, if you want to review games but live overseas, it may be tricky as we'll have to deal with your region's division of sony (or whatever publisher distributes the game) in order to get you a local copy of the game. That can complicate things a lot, but if you are still interested, let me know.

Those of you who haven't played Portal are missing out. Seriously, I bought The Orange Box for PS3 just for it.

I have to play Portal, but I'm not in a hurry. If they release a patch for the Orange Box PS3, I'll buy it. Otherwise, PC version, here I come! (when I upgrade my PC, that is)

Portal works fine on PS3, just ignore the oter games. Portal is worth the 60 bucks, IMO.

Why would you need to wait for a patch? There's no problems with any of the games. Went through Portal without seeing any issues. I'm currently playing through HL2, and there's no problems with that so far.

Episode 2 is very slow and choppy in the later battles, but other than that, I haven't run in to any problems.

The loadtimes are not that bad, though they could have been a lot better. Especially considering it uses the HDD for caching.

Like I mentioned in the other thread, I only care about Episode 2 and Portal, and E2 has some bad issues. Portal should be perfectly playable. I don't care about TF2, and I already played HL2 and Episode 1 on my PC, although I guess I would like to play them again sometime in the future.

I really wanted the game for Portal, and I have no problems playing TF2 online (though I'm sure it won't put a dent into COD4), so once I purchase DMC4 and GOW2 in Feb, I'll be picking this up in March.
