People slept on ICO but SoTC was a greatest hit. Anyway, we're hyped for it because team ico makes great games. We don't need any other reason than that.

all of Team Ico's games are unique to regualr video games you see out there...so this is why everyone is all hyped for this one...there is no doubt in my mind or any other team ICO fans mind that this game will be one of a kind...

they are worth buying a PS2 for, trust me. Ico is charming, atmospheric, moody and so damn pretty. Shadow, is simply stunning with boss battles that still haven't been matched by the 360 or the PS3... you will not believe that the PS2 was running this game

it's just a little too perfect for first details, that's all. i'm not saying it's not true because the actual concept feels very Team Ico, but the Cell comment is sort of like icing on icing at this stage... that's all. most times when the whole Cell comment has come out, we already knew a lot about the game.

'Chained Earth' is also very clichéd when you consider the image above.

it's a difficult one for me... Snake Eater was fantastic. i particularly loved The End snipe-out, but then again i just couldn't get over the idea of climbing those colossus's in Shadow or the gently ambient sounds of Ico and its charming main characters...

one interesting bit of speculation i dug up was that the chain is actually laying on the ground and there is a giant 'thing' tethered to it. you can just make out the shadow of his head at the top of the pic. this would be a great indication that Ico meets Shadow

the chain at the hole is exactly the same size as the chain the furthest from it... you would expect an increase in size if the chain was suspended and not laying on the ground. plus it's not taut... a chain that heavy would be straight until it touched the sides of the hole, it might not be completely flat on the ground, but it's certainly more horizontal than vertical (i must get out more lol)

Like I said, I qualified my statement saying it might not be going perfectly straight up, but I'm absolutely certain it's not lying on the ground. Just wanted to make that perfectly clear.

IT'S NOT LYING ON THE GROUND, NOW STFU. The angle at which it runs off the page is irrelevant, it's called composition. the lighting, perspective, and cast shadow make it impossible to be lying flat on the ground. At most, it's suspended at an angle to something.

UPDATE #2: Sorry guys, this was a blatant rumor which began at a respectable source, N4G.com. The fact that they started this rumor and flamed it to the masses is disheartening to say the least. A member of the TeamICOGamers Blogspot has informed us that this is primarily a feature in relation to SotC and nothing more. I apologize to our readers personally for this misunderstanding.

UPDATE #1: Sorry that the image is currently not working guys. It's an issue with our media server. Also, I would link to the source of this information if it weren't for the fact that it has been taken down. I've also made a change in the article from citing the homepage to the blogspot, which was an error on my part, and I apologize for the confusion. I'll keep you updated if anything changes regarding this.

I played SotC upscaled on my PS3 and it was a nice experience as well. Also, I decided to give the hard mode a go and I confirmed what I had read: some colossi have more weak points and react differently, so it was even a bit more fresh experience in my case.

this supposed trico teaser looks as if the chain is suspended a little at the top end, & the shadow at the top of the pic is denser than that of the shadows around the picture, as if there's something there, also you can see (what looks like) a small horn shape near the right side of the denser shadow protruding out of it, so when I look at this picture I think something is chained to the floor, it must be the floor & not a wall/ceiling since there are a few rocks that aren't attatched to the actual surface but are stuck in place.
(perhaps a prequel to Sotc when dormin was whole before he was split into several collosi?)

I played SotC upscaled on my PS3 and it was a nice experience as well. Also, I decided to give the hard mode a go and I confirmed what I had read: some colossi have more weak points and react differently, so it was even a bit more fresh experience in my case.do you have a 1080p set? Because when I upscale my games still look like crap (ps2 titles) Standard Def is the only thing that's I can play PS2 on...

I am SDTV aggrieved (?) and im not happy with that....
Its btw. unbelievable difficult to drive good in the GT5P demo with the cockpitview on that TV after playing several hours DTM 3 in 1024x768 (which isnt even a really high resolution) on my PC.

The difference between 720p and 1080p is huge and a FullHD is future proof.

Both sets seem to have the same main specs. Neither is too remarkable, but whatever. I'd wait a bit longer, but if I were you I would get one sometime before MGS4 is released.

I bought a higher quality AV cable when I got MGS1. I got a 5.1 decoder shortly after I got MGS2. I bought a 28" SDTV shortly before MGS3. I used new miniheadphones to play MGS PO. And I've got the feeling I'll be upgrading something before I get MGS4 :laugh:

What pisses me off... My tv is ok... It has a good picture etc... but compared to my Samsung Syncmaster 226BW (22'' 1680x1050) tft at my pc, the colors and everything else just sucks^^

I'd use caution before buying a plasma for gaming purposes though. Although I love mine for PQ, I have to be careful about burn-in. And I don't love having to be careful about it. Nowadays, the LCDs seem to have come up to parity in picture quality anyway.

Even being careful, I have the "Pixeljunk Monsters" emblem and the Warhawk health bar visible on my TV, like when it shows a full white screen. Not enough to see when I'm watching normal things, but enough to bother me.

I have a Samsung LE32T51B... 5th generation LCD. I paid only ~600€ for it, quite a bargain for 2006 (32'' at least, HD Ready too)

But, as I said before, my need TFT at my PC kicks it's balls at PQ.

I still prefer Samsung though, as I have already had some experience with their customer support, and it was great (my laptop had a dead HDD and they swapped it in less than 2 weeks).

At the moment, I am eyeing the new Samsung 40 to 42'' FULLHDs at the pricerange of 1000€... Maybe one will find it's way into my home^^

Mine's an off brand (Maxent), but one that relabels and uses Panasonic glass (which, aside from Pioneer, is supposedly the best). I got it last year. I bought into the whole "it doesn't happen anymore" bit, and for TV watching I'd say that's true. But for video games I'd say it's still a concern. I just hate that when I get up to answer the phone, if I forget I have a game on pause for a half hour, I think it could do something bad. I figure I have enough things to worry about.
