View Full Version : Edward Norton: "Utterly Unrelated" to Previous HULK

Yet another confirmation that this upcoming Incredible Hulk has no connection to 2003's Hulk, this time from lead star and co-writer Edward Norton. The actor cleared the air to Total Fim via The Sun on any relation to Ang Lee's version..He also confirmed that he said no initially to becoming Bruce Banner until he had a chance to update the screenplay and now he's fully ready for it and the possible sequels.
"First off it's utterly unrelated to that film," he told the magazine. "This is in no way a response to it or picking up from it. I think like Chris Nolan and those guys did with Batman, we just said: 'We're going to start completely with our own version of this myth or saga.'"
"To me the whole thing was to envision it in multiple parts," he said. "We left a lot out on purpose. It's definitely intended as chapter one."
Previous interviews have indicated we should expect our "first look" at the film during the Super Bowl (Feb 3rd).
The Incredible Hulk will hit theaters June 13, 2008.

HULK SMASH!!!! :) I hope there is MUCH more ass kicking by Hulk than the last movie. Ang Lee is kool, but a good comic book movie maker he is not. Eric Bana was good, but Ed Norton will be better. I am also glad Marvel is rebooting the series. Let's get some great ass kicking Hulk smashing action going! Action was always the heart of the Hulk comic, at least to me.

Ang Lee just picked the wrong character.
All most people want to see out of a Hulk film is him smashing things to shit.

Aug Lee's Hulk movie had to much drama and not enough ass kicking. The movie centered around Banner to much. Most Hulk fans I talk to wanted more Hulk and less Banner.

If a script has giant mutant poodles it's not supposed to become a film.

Hmm, I think Norton can pull it off.

Im looking forward to it, but the previews will have to be impressive or pretty good to make lots of money considering the awesome failure that was "The Hulk" by Ang Lee.

The last Hulk movie was pretty bad. Hopefully this one will be better, and thank God there's no relation.

Well, he's helping to write it so if the movie sucks it's partly his fault.

Norton's the kind of actor that picks films with meaning. He doesn't need the money.
This is why he's gonna pwn this one.

the avengers!

yep...they are trying to get out all the individual movies first.
which means the Avengers cast will probably be:
spider-man
iron man
incredible hulk
thor
silver surfer
captain america
I was hoping for some hot super heroine

oh, i was thinking of th eold 60s tv show. my excitement obviously clouded the fairly obvious fact that it has nothing to with marvel.
but a movie about those avengers should also be pretty cool.
