hanks to a web album from Epcot Servo, the first look for Disney & Pixar's UP has made its way online. The picture is really a snapshot of a new billboard near Disney's Hollywood Studios in Orlando, Florida. You can check out the billboard below. Nobody has been attached as starring in this upcoming animation but Pete Doctor is directing, based on a screenplay he penned alongside Bob Peterson.
Plot Summary: A coming-of-old-age story about a seventy-something guy who lives in a house that "looks like your grandparents' house smelled." He befriends a clueless young Wilderness Ranger and gets into lots of alter kocker altercations. Says Pixar: "Our hero travels the globe, fights beasts and villains and eats dinner at 3:30 in the afternoon."
UP will hit theaters June 12, 2009.

Interesting and weird, but then this is Pixar. I say they can do no wrong. There are rumors going around that this may be Pixar's first full 2D animation movie. It is supposed to be in response to various Disney execs saying that 2D animation is dead and need to left on the shelf. I think it was mainly the now defunct Michael Eisner that said this crap. Steve Jobs and Jogn Lasiter both publicly decried this view of 2D animation. it would be very kool if Pixar made them all eat crow.
