"The Covenent" was a decent movie. Not great by any means, in my book. The end battle was disappointing especially. Even the ascension wasn't as cool as I had hoped.

"Jumper", on the other hand, looks fantastic. I love the concept, the way they filmed the movie, everything. When watching the most recent trailer in theaters, I actually felt excitement. Mainly when the double decker bus comes barrelling at him over the sand dunes.

Another movie worth noting is "Wanted", also with Samuel L. Jackson in it. Looks great.

I don't see very many movies in the theater because I can't stand people talking during the movie. Pisses me off to no end. If I wanted to hear a bunch of mindless rambling, I could do it for free outside the theater. I don't need to pay to hear it. If people could figure out how to shut the hell up, I'd watch more films in the theater.

If I don't catch it on the big screen, I'll definitely add it to my Netflix queue when the time comes. I intend to see it one way or the other.

HolyPaladin, I feel your pain and I don't mean to sound like a suave artist but your solution is to find an independent cinema (a very few exist nowadays) where people go to watch FILMS instead of chat/ make out/ talk on the phone/ chew loudly on popcorn etc.

Granted they might not always show the latest Hollywood releases (some still keep a screen for those though just so they can stay in business) but at least you'll have a good cinema day like the good old days where going to the cinema was a film experience rather than a social one.

*wishes he was around back in those days*

Me too. I'm working at a movie theater right now so I usually hassle the people chatting or especially talking on the phone during a movie... totally unnecessary. Unfortunately in Orange County that's a battle you'll lose before you begin :(

What I've found helps that is to go to the movie on opening night, and if possible at the midnight release. Everybody that's there wants to see the movie, otherwise they'd show up at 8 PM next Wednesday when they don't have to make time to see it. Like when I saw 300 at midnight, it was the most obnoxious young males I've seen in one place in awhile, and they were passing around beach balls & what-not, but as soon as that movie started everybody shut up and stared straight at the screen. It was a good feeling. People talking can really ruin a movie for me, which is another reason why I hate going to the movies where my parents live (stupid desert town, they think they're the only people in the theater) and I almost got in a fight with a guy there because him and his girlfriend wouldn't shut the hell up.

Anyways... I wasn't excited by the first trailer I saw for Jumper, but the one I just recently saw before Cloverfield got me really excited -- I'll definitely be watching this one :-D

OC can suck balls. =P

Haha, parents need to find some babysitters to take care of their babies.
Even on adult theme movies, for fuck sakes.

I was skeptical of watching this when I first saw it, felt kind of cheesy and shit, but it's changing slowly.

OC can suck balls. =P

 it can do worse than that for all I care!

But yeah, I've wanted to be interested in this movie since I like Doug Liman's stuff, but the initial trailers didn't do it for me... the new stuff I've seen on it makes it look pretty awesome though :)

I have a friend who is attempting to get investors so that she can begin work on an independant film theater. She plans on having a sushi bar and all kinds of crazy shit.
