FUNimation FUNimation Entertainment has announced that they will bring two more Dragon Ball Z films to Blu-ray. Following the success of their 'Dragon Ball Z: Broly Double Feature' release, FUNimation will release a new disc with Dragon Ball Z films 'Dead Zone' and 'World's Strongest' together. No specs have been announced at this time, but expect similar treatment as their previous release, which includes 1080p AVC and a Dolby Digital soundtrack.

FUNimation has also announced that they will bring the live action film 'Shinobi' to Blu-ray as well. This title was previously released on HD DVD in Japan, but will be on Blu-ray in the US. No specs have been announced at this time.

Additionally, Anime distributor ADV Films has aligned themselves in the Blu-ray camp, and will begin releasing titles in the format some time this year. No titles have been announced at this time, but the company has admitted that the decision to release on Blu-ray may affect their release schedule as high definition transfers are made.

Normally I would put things like this in the Blu Ray section of Tech, but this is really Entertainment news more than it is Tech news. DBZ on Blu Ray in 1080p. That is pretty kool. For now it only looks like the movies are making it to Blu Ray right now, but I know that given time and good enough sales the series will make it to Blu Ray as well. For DBZ fans that are collectors of Blu Ray, this kicks ass.
