The story is about a man with two sides - good and evil. Conceited about his talents, he lives in a world of darkness until he discovers the beauty of khon, (Thai masked dance), and transforms it into a gracious fighting skill.

›› Ong-Bak 2 is directed by Tony Jaa himself who is the lead actor as well. He works along with his long-time Master Panna Rittikrai.

›› Ong-Bak 2 is an action movie and the story is inspired by Khon Dance, a traditional Thai dance. It'll use a new kind of Muay Thai combined to Khon Dance and ancient Thai weapons (including the sword and the spear). This new style of fighting adapted from Khon Dance Performance is called Muay Khon. Jaa says he got the idea after meeting performance artist Pichet Klunchun during the Subhanahongsa Awards ceremony last year (You can download the video of this show on the website, thanks to Charro). There will be elephants involved in the movie as well, and they will be part of the action.

›› Ong-Bak 2 is not a sequel to Ong-Bak but a remake of "Ai Noom Saraphad Phid", a film Tony made with his mentor Panna Ritthikrai several years ago. The film was never released and none of the old footage will be used, because when Panna and Jaa took it to the lab to be developed, they were informed it had expired.

›› Tony Jaa has incorporated in the film the three Khon's main characters : phra [prince], yak [giant] and ling [monkey] which represent different gestures. The phra character has a gracious, subtle style, while the yak is stronger, more aggressive and the ling is swift and agile.

›› The Thai actress of the film has been hired by a public casting organized by sahamongkolfilm.com. The producers were looking for a Thai lady age 18-22 with talent in the field of Thai music and Thai dance.

Kick ass!!! Ong-Bak was so damn awesome it was unbelievable. I was looking to see if Tony Jaa was making any more movies and I found this. Tony Jaa is the new Bruce Lee as far as I am concerned. he is the real deal like Bruce was, not like Van Dam of some crap. His combat skills are so bad ass as he is a real Thai kick boxing champion. I can not wait to see this movie. I also love watching Thai movie with subtitles as Thai sounds so freaking kool. Bring on more Tony Jaa! :)

Looking forward to this. Ong-Bak was good and the Protector was even better.

I see him not as the new Bruce Lee though but as the new Jackie Chan considering their stunt backgrounds and graceful styles.

I can see that except for the fact that Jaa is not really that funny. Chan is funny and more light hearted. Jaa is more serious like Lee. And are you saying that Lee, one of fore most masters of his time at Kung Fu and Jeet Kun Do(which he invented as you most likely know), was not graceful?

Me too. :)

It's the styles and stunts I'm referring to. Bruce Lee films were very light on stunts and his style/choreography was more power than elegance.

I get what you are saying now. In that respect Jaa is very close to Chan's style. I guess is he a trippy mix of Lee and Chan with his own personality mixed up in there.

Thanks man, I will look him up. I wonder if he has videos on Youtube.
