This thing keeps happening where my connection keeps getting dropped. A box pops up on the lower right corner saying "LAN disconnected". This happens every five minutes. I've called my ISP and all they do is replace the cable modem or change something on my computer, but it starts up again after that.
I can't stay on aim or play a game online longer that 5 minutes without getting disconnected.

Run anti-virus and spyware/adware in Safe Mode.

"network cable is unplugged"
It's not a virus/ad-ware, I can assure you that. I had this problem with every computer that hasn't run on wireless. Anything connected to this particular box has faced the same problem

Contact the manufacturer. If the problem is recurring with multiple computers and the ISP sees things fine on their end and in the line, it's likely the model itself is the problem.

I suggest you get in contact with your router manufacturer and get a replacement.

I've had that problem in the past. Your probably just need to replace the NIC (network interface card). You should be able to buy one from best buy or walmart even for around 10$.
edit: If it's every computer connected to the 'box' (i assume router), try replacing the router. If its a linksys (forget the model i had) its probably the router sucking ass. Try connecting directly to the modem and see if you still get the error message. if not then you know the problem is for sure your router.
