I remember reading the amount of AT was in the 20's or 30's, so youre probably right there. I dont know about the pokemon though. Ive been playing through it in Japanese so I dont really know whats going to when I unlock things, but sometimes I see a pokeball or an AT so I think you might be able to unlock more as you go. Maybe that 27 is the starting number?

OK, so I got to play the game last night....all I can say is wow.

I was totally blown away. It's everything I hoped and more.

My brothers and I played the Subspace Emissary for a good 2 hours or so, and we're only like 27% through. I didn't realize how massive it really was. It's so incredibly fun...it really is like a full-blown game all on its own.

I still have 8 characters left to unlock, but the ones I've used so far have been mixed. I have to say, I really don't like Snake at all. He just doesn't seem to fit in. I'm also a bit disappointed with Wario. Meta Knight seems like he can be really cheap.

I have homework to do all day and a 3 hour class tonight. I just can't wait to get back at it!

My brother in Sacramento is getting the game for me so I won't be at any midnight launches nor will I have the game until he sends it to me. Its a late Christmas present so I'll get the game free at the cost of a couple of days more of waiting. I live in Vegas so it won't take long to send. I beat The Subspace Emissary this morning...that last level was a doozy. My brother and I tried the final boss at least a dozen times last night, but he was actually easier with just one player.
One of his attacks is an instant KO, but with two players you lose two fighters at once...with only one player you can last longer.

I've unlocked all the characters and levels for my store's tourney tonight, which I'm pretty happy about. Sonic is so much fun to use! But Pit is probably my favorite new character...he's freakin' angelic.

Seriously though, SSE is epic. That alone is worth the $50 you'll drop on the game.

I played it and it is slower than Melee. I'd peg it somewhere in the middle of Smash 64 and Melee's speed.

^Nah, you should go back and check 64's speed. Its hella slow. Id say Brawl is just a tiny, tiny bit slower than Melee. Maybe even the same, but with slightly slower attacks (So running and jumping is the same). I thought it was slower too when I first played, but I used link and he swings his sword around a lot slower. I dunno. I was concerned that it would be too slow but I cant really tell much difference.

Not nearly as much hype or a crowd when compared to halo 3. I went to a weird place to buy games at launch though.. Sam's Club. But most places weren't doing launch events, so that's why I went there.

There were about 20 people there, and half of them were there just to get a Wii.

The game is pretty cool so far. I can't play online yet, but the single player is kinda fun.

I have been spoiled with HD though... Its hard to play wii games, even at 480p. It also does feel a little slower than melee.

the speed is just....different.... like ......they dumbed certain things down....but others are still fast....it's hard to explain....

the biggest example I noticed was the star item that smashes downward....(forgot the name all of the sudden).... that item is WAY slower...but others are still pretty fast....

anyway.... at my GameStop there was over 200 people actually closer to 300 probably.

so .... I also put my friend codes in that other thread I made if anyone wants to be my friend :)

Noah.... its definitely worth a purchase just because of how much content is in the game.....and its a great game to have when friends are scrounged up.

Avoid the hype.....sure....

but definitely buy it ......thats my opinion.

Even if it's not your favorite type of game....you'll still be able to find many things to like.

The adventure mode is a lot deeper than Melee's for sure. I am about 12% done. However, I wouldn't get it just for that. It seems like the single player could get repetitive.

The multiplayer is a blast as always. However, I have had trouble playing online. I haven't been able to join a game with the few attempts I had.

Played it, its an okay game, don't really think its anything great. Just not my cup of tea I guess. Though I did have a lot of fun playing multiplayer with the other ones.

Just play multiplayer on the Shadow Moses level a bunch. Or you could just play through the SSE mode and wait about 4 hours to unlock.

Snake's cool, but I'm not very fond of his moveset.
