View Full Version : PlayStation bounces back - BBC Article - Super secret game in 2009?

So what else was I shown? Well, I was shown a trailer for a game not due out till 2009 but was sworn to absolute secrecy. Apparently, Sony just wanted to give a glimpse of what the console will be capable of.
In fact, the game is such a secret that when I mentioned the game to Phil Harrison last week he was unsure at first whether even to admit the title existed. When I explained I had been shown it under strict Non Disclosure Agreement terms he looked relieved.
I don't mean to be a tease - all I can say is that I was left speechless. If the footage I was shown truly is "in game", as told to me by the Sony PR people, then we could be on the brink of a step change in what games consoles are capable of in terms of story-telling and immersion.
And there I'll leave it. Feel free to speculate on what I was shown. I cannot, of course, confirm or deny what it was....

What could it be? Any ideas? Theories? Left him speechless huh? If that is true then that sounds great. Damn them for teasing us like this. E3 08 can not come fast enough.....

I would take a bet on Heavy rain.
these articles do not give me much hope, as I recall just 1 year ago, the same news circulation was informing to us ps3 would never equal gears of war level graphics. He may have seen the true ico trailer, I wish they would just come out and say it, not just 'i saw something, believe me, something intense, probably!'

From the sounds of it I don't think it's something we've heard of yet so it's probably not 8 Days or Heavy Rain.

I' m already sure it's a First Party title.
The all article mentioned Studios in London. the only one I can think of is or could be " Team Soho ".
If the game is not due till 2009. We ll certainly have a look this fall.

Yes Kutaragi's dream will become real.
I would love to see a next gen sequel to Mark Of kri that was an awesome game ala god of War i think . but not really mediatized just like Ico was.
There tons of sequels to make.
But yeah could be great to have a new IP. I m lil bit tired of FPS want a true action game with tones of interaction, freedom. and good storyline.

Bingo! that's what i'm thinking. perhaps R* has actually seen what the Getaway is going to be like and is now pretty pissed with Take Two doing that deal with MS, which is where the rumours of the split are coming from

I loved this game and I would love Sony to make such games that are really between a movie and a game.
