I used to be Alloy. Some of you might remember me.

In any case, I've returned to NintendoNow in preparation for Smash Bros Brawl. I look forward to having some regulars to beat up, hehe. (that means you, Zeep)

And just to stay on topic, at the midnight launch at my local Gamestop, I will be participating in a Smash Bros Brawl tourny that could land me at the finals in San Jose, California! Winning at this first leg of the tourny come midnight launch, I would get $50 store credit + I get to move on to the next part of the tourny. If I win that next one, I go to regionals and then to San Jose for the finals! Woo!

Wish me luck~

Oh, who should I play as? I've been debating this as when I actually participate in the tourny for the first time, I obviously won't have any BRAWL experience. I've played the heck out of the original and Melee, though. But, who to be come midnight launch? Hmm...

I doubt theyll have all/any unlocked characters for the tournament, so youd be better of using someone you were good with in Melee whos a starter in Brawl. Link is a bit slower than Melee, but hes still pretty good. Fox isnt crazy fast anymore, so hes very good. Pit's cool, but hes not overly powerful. If theyve unlocked a few, Falco is good, Diddy Kong is good... Try to avoid Sonic and Snake (or at least Snake) because they take some time getting used to. Sonic less so. Snakes too hard to use for a begginer.

(Ive been playing the Japanese version).

Edit: He is joking, and your sig only shows up on your first post on each page now.

Ah, thanks for the clarification, LuigiBros.

I do know who the starting line-up is in BRAWL, and I too don't think they'll have any of the unlockable characters selectable. So, I may use Link or Mario, as I'm used to them sort've. However, I've heard good things about MetaKnight. And perhaps I should show my boy Bowser some love. *ponder*

Out of those 4 Id say go for Mario. Just dont use his down+B move cause it takes a while to get the hang of (Im assuming you wont get to practice before the actual tournament). Metaknight has some cool moves, but youll probably want someone who youre more familiar with, which is why i think Mario's a good choice. Link is also good, hes just a little different to Melee.

Hey, it's Alloy! How's it going? I'm Phoenixphire if you haven't figured that out; I'm not sure if I became Phoenix before or after you left.
