Pretty good article and I guess the score seems pretty fair. Doesn't really matter to me of the score since I'm buying this game no matter what. A video review is also up. Also I would like to say there is a bit of character spoilers in the vid review, but at this point in time it shouldn't be too big a deal.

9.5 is good enough. I feel the complaint against the subspace thingy is valid... and honestly i'd take .5 off for lack of voice chat/leader boards

I found it interesting that Melee got a 9.6, and Brawl improved on every level and got a 9.5.
Standards change. Seems like a fair score to me.

^Yeah. No game is perfect and a 9.5 is a damn good score.

Number scores are completely meaningless anyway. There is no way to quantify the quality of a game the way they try to.

Why? It's because essentially the gameplay is the same. Generally a third sequel of a film won't be scored as highly unless it's a complete reinvention.
I will get this eventually but lack of great online features is a turn off.

This happens to most sequels. Being an improvement over a previous incarnation doesn't translate to better scores, or else we'd have to start giving 11/10 and 12/10 before long. Heck, Ocarina of Time is still the highest-rated Zelda game to date, despite games following it continuing to add to and improve on OoT.
It's hard to complain with a score of 9.5. 95% is absolutely phenomenal, and few games reach or exceed this level of greatness. So far, GameRankings only lists a few other reviews, but among them the game presently averages 98%, and while that is bound to drop a bit over time as more reviews come in, an average of anything in the 90+ range is outstanding. Some of the games people boast so much about fall short of 90% (average).
I don't care about the score, however. I know I want it, and always have known this, and thus have had it pre-ordered for just shy of forever.

this is the one title I'd hoped would really make wii's online offering shine. Sounds like Wii is following PS2's online philosophy (as far as actual gaming goes). That's disappointing. I'd still like to check this title out though. Hopefully my friend will pick it up so I can.
