Favorite Brawl Characters Thread (Some Spoilers)

If you don't want to know any of the characters that are unlockable, then you may not want to read this.

But I'm sure pretty much everyone has found the screen of all the characters before, so I figure it's cool to make a thread about five days after the game comes out.







I'm not through Subspace Emissary yet, but Lucario has to be one of my new favorite characters, with Ike coming close behind. Classic goes to Link; I just can't use much else very well with the Wii Remote and Nunchuk controls (which I'm working on).

As far as ones I want to try, Toon Link's at the top of the list. I can't wait to unlock him. :-)

I can't wait to unlock Toon Link either. Bu t as far as my favorite new character goes, I am in love with Pit. He is lethal in my hands. He is the butter to my bread.

Since I am new to the series, I randomly picked Link to learn on. Not too bad, but I recently swapped to Bowser and have been recording more wins with him.

I have not spent much time on the rest of the characters and there are some I have not even tried yet. I would like to know what characters everyone else is playing with.

Mario for sure. I recently unlocked snake, and I enjoy using him.

I also like Pit, Samus(not zero suit samus though), and meta knight a lot.

Link is still my favorit, but I'm taking a liking to Ike. He's a bit slow, but he's devistating when he hits you with that ridiculously huge sword.

Donkey Kong is still my favorite. Link was my main man in Melee but I use him only sparingly now. Toon Link is great too but he's very light.

My other favorites are Pit, Sonic, and King Dedede.

My top 5 (not in order) are Samus, Link, Ike, Zelda, and Meta Knight.
I also like Lucario, Wolf, and Pokemon Trainer a lot.

I still like Link and Samus, and so far the new characters I like are Ike, Meta Knight, and King Dedededdedee.

I really want to try out Sonic and Toon Link, but I haven't unlocked them yet.

I'm Wario all the way. I'm better with him than anyone else and I usually dominate with him. If you fight me, more than likely I'm Wario. :devious:

My other mains are King Dedede and Toon Link.

Sonic, Pit, Bowser, and Snake are some of my lower favs.

Wario's Motorcycle pisses me off. My friend came over and spammed that attack. So I used Link's sword plant and fucked his shit up

No love for Snake? Wow. He's my best so far. Falcon has always been a particular favorite as well. Link, Samus, and Wolf are also pretty good.

I'm new to Smash Brothers myself. Pikachu feels most natural to me when I'm playing. I tend to like him best, although I haven't spent much time trying out the other characters.

I mostly use meta knight but I also enjoy playing as Link, Lucas, Pit and Ike. A lot of the time though I just put the selection on random.

Falco and Diddy were my favorites for a while, and I still use them regularly, but once I got Toon Link I was sold. He's just so awesome in every way. Wario turned out to be pretty awesome, too. Pokemon Trainer is cool, but I wish I could just use Squirtle. Link and Mario are good too.

Zero Suit Samus and Snake by far

Zero suits down b grants her amazing recovery, and an awesome kill move. Snake is just too much fun, what with his land mines, c4s and all. My third fave would have to be Pokemon Trainer... although I can't get squirtle down for the life of me. I'm pretty good with Charizard, and ivysaur is just godly.

On a sidenote... I really need to change my sig and avatar...

I haven't yet played enough to unlock many characters, and haven't spent much time with many of them, but so far I've liked Link, as I had in the past. It helps that he's the main protagonist from my favorite video game series, I guess.

Ness is amazing. Everything that was bad about him in Melee (yo-yo attacks, PK pulse, etc.) has been improved, and everything that was great about him has stayed intact or gotten even better. The bat has a slightly shorter range and PK fire takes a smidgen longer to activate, but he's still one of the two best characters I've spent considerable time with so far.

The other one is Diddy Kong. All of his smash attacks friggin' rule, his recovery is insane because his forward B can be followed up with his up B, the peanut gun is great for stopping someone rushing at you or catching them off guard, and the banana peel is great because no once expects you to use it.

Mario and Samus were probably my two best in Melee, and I'm glad to see Mario virtually unchanged, although I've yet to find a good use for FLUDD. On the other hand, Samus, is radically different than before. I'll need to spend more time with her. I've also tried to improve with Sonic, and so far I've discovered that his spring jump is probably his most useful B move.

Sonic was one of my favorites to play as. When I played as him, I only lost 1 match against my friends (Flat Zone 2 is not a Sonic-friendly level). Most of the other levels suit Sonic fairly well. When I was playing as him, I got like 15-16 kills on average (My friends and I play 10-lives stock matches). Sonic felt pretty natural for me. His third jump is pretty sweet, and he has the "Roll Out" move Jigglypuff had in Melee (I haven't played as Jiggly in Brawl yet). So yeah, Sonic's good for me.
Fox is still one of my favorites. He's a bit slower than Sonic, but he's still pretty vicious in the speed category. His moveset is also a bit more familar to me, so he's a bit more predictable. I tend to accidently use his illusion attack to cause some suicides, but his reflector move can be murder. I don't know. He's got some power when used properly.
Pokemon Trainer is also cool just to mess around with. I get a kick out of beating people up with Squirtle and Charizard (Ivysaur isn't cool in my book). He also makes me want to bust out with FireRed and LeafGreen again.

Link and Pikachu are still my two favorite characters.

In Melee Link and Pikachu were the only two characters I would play with but every since the day before Brawls launch date (Gamestop tourney) I have found myself using Samus and Donkey Kong.
