Forced induction is a brilliant way to gian tons of horsepower with very little extra weight. What do you prefer on your vehicle? A turbo is sweet becuse the boost it produces adds tons of power, and is a pretty simple concept to grasp. The cons of a tubo is it's "lag" or spool up time for larger turbos. A supercharge is cool because the power is instant, no spool up time like a turbo. The cons of a Supercharger is that to increase the boost you must take off and replace diffrent belts, much harder then turning the kob on a boost controller on a turbo.

I prefer a turbo, easier to work on and increase power.

I go with turbo. Lag is bad sometimes, but you need a jesus ton of turbo for it to be bad.

Supercharging is grand, but if you have a stick, everytime you shift you lose the charge...

Just my oppinion though.

I like the sound of the turbo spooling up, it sounds so hot, then the loud PSHHHT of the bypass valve. A SuperCharger was a whiney sound to it, I dont like it much

uh s/charge a v8 is better.

Anyway, i've gone turbo, much more horsepower to suit a 4 cylinder engine. ie. higher end revs.

Its got lag but not when you drive it hard, gotta keep them revs up. Mines got a HUGE turbo in it at the moment, was going along today in third and it started spooling up then i was like "fuckit, boost!" and she just peeled off rubber in third from a rolling start. I've run out of traction now.

I know supercharging a V8 is better, but if you must have that sound, there is no better way to go!

Reeeen Tsssss Chhhhh

Yeah the BOV sound is the coolest sound ever. I think I would prefer turbo over supercharge because of the cost. Plus you get a nifty boost guage to look at.

SuperChargers have a boost gauge too

My car may not make the "Reeeen Tsssss Chhhhh" but if semi floored it goes. *never found the need to floor it*

What car you got again?

Anywho, the V8 VRoooom! is pretty cool too. I have a friend with a 78' Trans Am LE, and another friend with a 68' Camaro. And then another friend with a 96 (95) Grand Sport Corvette. The corvette gets it's ass handed to it by both of them.

Well my cars intake makes a dope whistling sound when I floor it so I make believe I have a turbo.

LOL My AEM cold air intake does that too. I finally got rid of that crappy short ram, and it made a huge diffrance

Did you install your cold air yourself? If so is it an easy process? Right now I have a short ram with a ractive filter and I'm wondering if cold air will rock my world.

It isn't very hard to install, as long as you get one that is made for your car. it usually only requires like 30 minutes, and steady hands. Not hard at all.

Cold Air >>>>>>>Short ram. It took me 5 minutes to put it on. A trained monkey could do it. It's like 2 clamps and a few screws.

And yes there is a big differance, I have had both and the CAI sounds much better, just dont drive in deep puddles. You do not want water sucked up the filter (hydro Lock)

*Back on Topic*

Twin Turboing a V8 would be sweet, but extreamly hard, due to lack of room in the engine bay. Thats why most use a supercharger

No, you would need a ford Gemini kit from nitrous express. It would be a real bitch to put on

First off, dont get the NOS brand, it sucks compared to Nitrous Express, or ZEX nitrous systems. Second you need to find out of if you can use an EFI system or not. EFI would be the simpilist kit to hook up
